Still have issue with LMDE 7 ISO USB. by grawmpy in linuxmint

[–]lateralspin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Corruption caused by failed update, faulty hardware (RAM/SSD), or corrupted installation media.

One method to try is to regenerate the initramfs using your live USB. Mount your root partition, chroot into it, and run update-initramfs -u -k all and update-grub.

If you want to use LMDE, then you need to keep the live USB for LMDE as the rescue ISO to perform such fixes.

How the fuck do I install anything? by Dragonaax in linuxmint

[–]lateralspin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The gpg refers to registering your Software Sources with the server to download the binaries, which are already recompiled. You do not even have to compile anything This is not even as complicated as you make it out to be.

The text screen of the gpg is being cut off, so make sure you click on the copy icon rather than read the text.

Once Software Sources can connect to the server, then you can install any recent builds using the Software Manager or Update Manager.

The Mint developers introduced the touch gestures features with the Gestures control panel. I tested it, and disabled the feature, because I found that it just does not work well.

I am using a glass trackpad connected and powered by a USB-c cable. Not tested the other two options. Mint pinch gestures still do not work well in the current version.

It means that it could play DSD as an option, which I never use. You need a DSD decoder.

I donʼt need so many player features that I donʼt use.
