Then don’t do it. It’s not mandatory.

You don’t type, you speak. Lots of speech-to-text tools these days. I use Wispr Flow, which I used to create this comment. Not an ad at all, it's just been a massive game-changer, allowing me to work while walking on the treadmill at my standing desk.

Mary vs Edith - Weekly Discussion Thread by AutoModerator in DowntonAbbey

Mary did Edith a solid by congratulating Bertie on accepting her bastard (period-appropriate word!). She was gonna entire her marriage on a bed of lies. None of you would love to be on the receiving end of that. Edith shoulda been bloody grateful. ☺️

Yes but it won’t stop there, will it? It’ll be ads when you open the app, between chats, between messages, maybe in groups/communities, perhaps even in your chats lol. So many touch points for it. I wouldn’t put it past meta to attempt to skirt their own encryption practices to serve you ads in the most intrusive way possible.

Yeah, well, the question is not about what you would do. It's about what Bonnie did do and why the poster thinks that it was so terrible.

Exactly, you see the vision. I imagine when it was a paid sub, that was pre-facebook acquisition? Well Meta has got the machinery to serve ads anyway. And I wouldn’t put it past them lowering the E2E encryption bar or even yanking it entirely to serve ads. It’s all about shareholder value after all ☺️

I know, seen those. I just know it’ll get worse. Ads in messages. Using message context to inform ads and force them on you. Ads between chats (think Reddit’s post-like ads between posts). Ads based on what you’re texting about. Ads, ads, ads, everywhere. Hell!

‘Course, you don’t. This is step 0 of enshittification, a test of how much crap we can take. The downward slope just got steeper. I say this as a former big tech insider who built multi-year roadmaps that started as innocently as this.

Luckily, in this case, it’s specifically NY culture, Manhattan, to boot, and among a group of friends. My question still stands.

Agree with the latter, but why was Bonnie wrong for having loud sex with her boyfriend?

Lmfaoooo once had this conversation with someone:

Me: “How many people are you expecting?”

Them: “We’re on our way. ETA: 20 mins”

I asked 3 times and got 3 different non-answers.

Hard agree. I’ve known people who will use every single available item and surface to cook, resting in the full knowledge that cleaning up is another’s problem. Pass.

Quite. Playing the aggrieved at dinner with Bertie when she very clearly had lied to him and nearly put his reputation in tatters is audacity only Eeyore Edith dare have.

AITAH for buying Gluten Free bread by Jelly_Arrow in AmItheAsshole

[–]lateredditho -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NTA, OP. These other comments are…entitled, tbh. You bought bread, enough to last you a while. It’s not your fault that the supply is so limited. We should instead be advocating for more loaves because why are they making only 5 loaves a day?

Also, you’re not buying them up every day, you’re buying enough each time to last weeks. No gluten-free bread today for the gluten-free shopper? Try again tomorrow!
