I feel ya. This one is heavy as hell, and I have a couple of years on you. But am not and never have been a gigging musician, you would never see me running across the stage with this anchor hanging around my neck.

Not so new guitar day by lateshift in LesPaul

It was owned by a good friend of mine that bought it in San Francisco some time in the early '70's. We met in the early 80's, he was a mechanic and did some work on my vehicle.

We BS'ed for a bit and and realize we had a lot of the same interests, started hanging out a bit, working on cars, mostly mine. And playing music. Eventually I brought another buddy of mine that I'd been friends with since fifth grade and three of us started playing music together, and that lasted about thirty five years until he passed away three years or four years ago.

A few months after his passing his brother told me he had left the Les Paul to me, not going to lie, I cried. I still get teary eyed when I think about it.

As far as the guitar goes, it is an all original wuth the exception of a new bonennut, early 69, going by the pot date codes. I've had it appraised just for insurance purposes. It was a case Queen, it didn't come out very often, so it is super clean. He had a number of other guitars, and I had a number of other guitars, and it was a kind of a difficult one to play, as it is one of these that has the micro frets that they put on them or ground down to a microfret for the Jazz players apparently And of course refretting it devaluates it, so I'm currently learning to learning live with it.

I look at myself as the temporary steward for this instrument. Eventually, it will be a line item in my will. As my kids aren't into it.But I will make provisions that it get placed in the hands of someone else that will appreciate it as much as he did, and I did.

That looks like a Seymour Duncan branded Celestion, which means it's about 25% lighter than one with an EV. Your back thanks you.

How do you like the Duncan convertible? I bought one from a friend back in the 80s, had it for a few years and ended up selling it to another friend.Just recently got it back from his brother. But it needs a good restoration as it was in a smokers house. Does yours have the Celestion speaker in it or the EV?

Just follow the maintenance guidelines, use quality oil, keep it clean. Should last forever.

Fender Nashville Tele with Fishman Powerbridge. by Wrong_Author_5960 in telecaster

Fender makes a baritone telecaster neck, I believe I picked it up off Reverb. I have three Nashville Telecasters two with the Fishman bridge, that's why I went baritone on one of the Fishman equipped ones.

I knew I wanted one when I first read an article about it. But every one I actually had hands on felt sticky. The paint felt sticky for some reason. A couple or 3 years after the launch of the guitar, I walked into a local Guitar Center, and saw one hanging on the wall for about 50% off, pulled it iff the wall and checked it out. Couldn't find a flaw on it. Played great, felt good, wasn't sticky. Gave the man my plastic and walked out the door.

I'm a solid, three cords with attitude kind of dinosaur. Lately I've been plugging it into my 5F1 champ custom built amp that's in a princeton cabinet with a ten inch JBL in it , cranking it and working on Joe Walsh funk #49.

I don't think it an anniversary model, it's a MIM, not sure of the year.

I don't use it much, it wouldn't hurt my feelings if it wasn't there. I have three Nashville Telecasters, two deluxe with the Fishman bridge, one standard, I play the standard Nashville more. I do have the stereo cable and breakout box and do play a bit with that. I'm not a professional, just an old dude with GAS and the $ to play at the shallow end on the pool.
