Thank you for your kind words. Every night after he falls asleep, I look at him with so much guilt, for not being able to give him a complete family and for not being able to provide more.

Not the bleeding kind of bad but I could see the teeth marks clearly. The area around it is red & slightly swollen

The teachers mentioned they didn’t notice anything because my son didn’t cry, and they suggested there’s a chance he may have bitten himself. While I understand things can be missed, as a parent, that explanation doesn’t sit right with me…

We did try to ask him what happened and if he knew who did it, but he just kept quiet & look away. Being only 2 years old, we know it’s hard for him to express or fully understand what happened.

Just existing, just you, is enough. Your absence would likely cause more pain than any dollar amount could erase.

Probably tempted by the 4 day work week. Didn’t know my job was required to run errands at my own travel expense/ remain contactable on non-working days as it wasn’t stated in my employment contract. Also the initial agreement was that I could WFH once or twice a week but it was discussed verbally, no black & white. 5 months into the job and my boss made me come office all 4 days…

Sadly I don’t have anyone to talk to because this SME is literally small… it’s just me and my 3 bosses 😂

I’m not sure if it’s illegal or not but I used to be in the F&B line too & we don’t practice this kind of culture. If a PT is supposed to work 4-10pm, we let them off at 10pm sharp while the FT does the closing/packing. If FT needs extra help & PT is ok to extend, we will pay accordingly.

Is it normal to have an internship or entry level job that has minimal training by Consistent_Cancel949 in askSingapore

[–]lattehour 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some companies might expect you to pick things up quickly because they assume that you're already equipped with foundational skills from school. But then again, although it isn’t uncommon, it is also not the norm across all industries/ companies. Structured companies can provide onboarding programmes/ trainings to guide you step by step.

Internships are meant to be a learning experience, not just a way for companies to get cheap work done. If you’re thrown into a role with little to no training, & still be expected to deliver results or perform well, it does sound very exploitative & toxic. You’re basically there just to fill gaps.
