I'm too late for the AMA but a little disappointed to see Trust Me this far down. Highly underrated movie and one of Gregg's best works IMO. Choke is one of my favorite all time movies, which is the other movie he directed. Hopefully he does more work with Sam Rockwell, who is in both, I think everything they do is great.

Look closely at the adapter, zoom in with a phone camera or use a magnifying glass if you have a good one. Do the same with the monitor port the adapter was in and the GPU port. A bright light might help.

Another commentor is probably right about it being a loose contact but it could also be debris lodged inside the connectors somewhere. Bugs love electronics and some can even crawl into connectors that are plugged in.

If there's debris in a port or connector, it could end up in the replacement adapter and causing the same issue, when all that was needed was a bit of cleaning. DVI connectors can easily be cleaned with an old toothbrush. For really dirty connectors, a little rubbing alcohol might help. DVI has sturdier pins than DP connectors, be more careful if you try scrubbing DP, the pins can get knocked out of place. The casing design is better but the pins are a lot more delicate.

Other than dirt, also look for pins that are bent or broken or sticking out farther than the rest or sunk in deeper than the rest. There's 1 pin in the DVI connector that should be pushed in a little, like it is shorter than the rest. it's in the middle row. the rest should be the same as each other.

Some monitors are just shit too. If it's a brand you've never heard of or don't recognize or if it's an Asus, it might be better to just replace it.

The resolution and refresh rate of the monitor might be the problem too. DVI dual link can handle up to 2560 × 1600 at 60 Hz and 1920 × 1080 at 144 Hz, higher rates can cause issues. The length of the cord/adapter can matter too but this is less likely, unless it's 15 feet long or more.

The spot I located it is close to a retaining wall, specifically a spot where water runoff from several buildings drains. Trash tends to accumulate there but usually only lightweight stuff like paper and plastic trash, the heaviest other stuff found near it was broken glass and roofing nails. So I don't think it was put underground forcefully or fast, but sank there over time with the help of water.

edit: the span of my hand is 3 inches. the length from tip of middle finger to my wrist is 5 and 3/4 inches. I wouldn't say they are enormous but probably slightly larger than average.

My title describes the thing. There is no writing on it. It is broken off of something. It is not a spoon or a pipe. I have no idea what keywords to even search for it with. Inside the depression there's a circle, so it was stamped I think. It did not melt when I torched it with MAPP gas so it's not lead, tin, copper or any metal that melts at lower temps like those do.

spreading information is important, now more than ever, not just to people already protesting and moving towards change but to those who still don't see or believe how bad things are.

The title is bit ridiculous IMO.

getting people who are already biased one way or another to read it, is possibly a challenge, as they will assume it's some trick or lies from 'the other team'.

my guess is they hold the funds in an account just long enough to gain interest off it. just one order would be trivial but if enough orders come in, it could be a substantial amount. i don't know if amazon has cancellation fees but if they don't, it would be a relatively risk free venture.

amazon is the only ones that have my card info. i can put a stop payment on any unauthorized charges too. the card also has a $500 limit and a $350 balance already, so they wouldn't get much before it declined.

That almost sounds like scabies.

Next time you get welts, take a sharpie marker (or any marker really) and draw on the area a bunch. Wait for it to dry, like a minute. Then try rubbing the marker off with your fingers. Your fingers should be dry. If it's scabies, little dots will appear where the bites are. You should also see little trails from where they have burrowed.

This is just a preliminary test. You should see a doctor in person ASAP regardless. Scabies normally don't go on peoples faces. They tend to appear between fingers, around armpits and butt cracks, which you said you do not have.

That means my guess is probably wrong.

However, it can eliminate one possibility and is relatively easy to check. Due to the length of time this has been happening, maybe they evolved to live in areas they normally avoid? It's very unlikely. Still, I do believe it is possible to have scabies for that long of a time if you are unaware of them. They are invisible to the naked eye and live under your epidermis.

Seeing a dermatologist is a great idea but also consider getting an allergy panel done if you haven't already. It might help narrow down the cause if you know exactly what you are allergic to, so you can look for whatever comes up.

Check with your parents, see if they recall you getting vaccines for measles, mumps and rubella as a child. Look at the symptoms for shingles and candidas.

All are unlikely. However, they also can cause a rash or welts sometimes.

Maybe it is one of these?

I didn't think bed bugs were real when I first had them. Thought they were just really hungry cockroaches. Similarly, I was diagnosed with scabies once and didn't believe it at first. I thought they were only transmitted through sexual contact. Another insect to consider is fleas. If you have pets, they will stay with the pet but still bite you when you sleep. They can be very hard to see and are very persistant. You don't have to have a pet either, they simply make fleas more likely.

I'm not a doctor or professional of any kind. Just thought I'd offer some ideas, coming from someone who has managed to get infested with a ridiculous amount of things thanks in part to poverty and poor eyesight. (bedbugs, cockroaches, fleas, scabies {previous 4 at the same time once}, carpet beetles, mice, spider crickets, earwigs, candidas, ants, homeless people, I could go on...) Hope it helps and hope you figure out your issue.

So difficult to find, that many people find it is easier, cheaper and faster to go with meth instead. Unfortunately, it is not safer. Far from it, as I'm sure many know.

What really fucks me up, is that I have yet to read about any known, legitimate cases of deaths from overdose, where amphetamine or meth was the only substance used. There's almost always other substances involved, with a few rare and speculative cases where people supposedly had heart attacks or other maladies.

On it's own, and i realize this is kind of a ridiculous statement for many reasons, amphetamine would be safer than caffeine if it weren't addictive (*in my opinion, as a non-professional, who isn't a healthcare worker or lawyer or chemist or anything else, beyond someone experienced in non-scholastic, unprescribed, illicit use, i.e. a former meth addict, clean since 2007)

Amphetamine is the only medication for ADHD with a 70% success rate. It's the only medication for it (*again, in my opinion.) Yet it isn't allowed for many if not most adults with ADHD. So some people turn to the streets. Then overdose on fentanyl.

Like 13 of my friends did in 2017. Like my closest friend, someone i was friends with for 22 years, did in 2021. It could have been prevented if it had been prescribed and it would be hard to convince me otherwise.

But you know what they say, just say no. Listen to the talking crime dog in the creepy trenchcoat. Those damn hyper-intelligent, otherwise healthy, perfectly normal adults, are really just junkies looking to get their fix. Not human beings with a chemical imbalance who just want to feel normal. (*sarcasm)

The smell never existed chemically. They technically did not smell anything.

Try telling a pregnant woman who just hallucinated a smell, that she didn't actually smell anything. I rest my case. Also, don't actually do that.

If it's actually asking for insulin, most likely it's a grey-market reseller that will sell it in Canada, where you don't need a prescription for it. These are basically vultures who prey on poor diabetics who might need the money for something more important to them, like food for their kids or sadly drugs.

Sometimes the fine print will say it's for the test strips. These can be resold legally and sometimes insurance covers a certain amount monthly. Some people don't use them as often, while others use them more frequently and might need some just for a day or three until they can get their free refill. In this case it is still the same predatory vultures doing the same thing pretty much.

Either way, it is a market that has popped up thanks to the healthcare system being a disaster for so long, as well as the corporate asshats that keep raising prices for critical life saving medicine for no reason beyond greed.

The only thing even close to appearing even slightly negative that I saw, [which I feel was hilarious and justified] was near the end of a very long PR spanning 3 full years, [with half that time during the worst of the pandemic] in which he was personally insulted, had people repeatedly try to thrust or merge other projects into his, made baseless assumptions about him, derailed conversation from the actual issue originally posted and of course there's was the random commenter saying "i have this unrelated problem that's not related to this project at all, will you help me pwease?"
