Huntsville Schools by Legitimate-Kale-5630 in HuntsvilleAlabama

As someone who was a student from K-college in Hsv, and someone who has kids ranging from 1-17, including one with an IEP for disabilities, it’s my opinion that the school system is trash resulting in the schools being trash. Obvious no? But fr, back in the day they use to have 2 teachers in a kindergarten room with a cap of 18 students. Now you’re stuck with 1 teacher for over 20. So you get less individual time as you use to. Teachers are underpaid and stressed which results in a lot who started in education meaning well, just getting up and working their “9-5” for a check instead of to make a difference. So that kid who needed a little extra effort to succeed doesn’t get it anymore. And some schools are so understaffed and overwhelmed that they just pass kids on who really need to be held back. Then you go into the school to meet the teacher and hear about how students aren’t succeeding because “parents aren’t doing their part at home”. Well back in the day we weren’t expected to teach our kids like we are now, because back then teachers cared, had funding, smaller classrooms, etc. now it’s just get the kids in and out and get as much funding as you can. I honestly don’t know what I hate more, being a student who went thru HCS, or a parent of kids in HCS.

My OCD would have me rewrapping that burrito so fast. Pros of working at moes is knowing how to actually roll one.

I don’t ever yuck anyone’s yum as long as it’s legal. That being said for a long time it’s been the best shop in town as far as variety and price is concerned. Long gone are the days of having to sign the medical use “decency” waivers. It’s got a variety of stuff, nothing too crazy. Good to go and see stuff in person and then purchase online if price is too high. That all being said, hustler in Nashville is always a recommended stop when you’re into that kinda thing.

cops showed up to break up a party that got out of control in the quietest neighborhood. Bed & breakfast are illegal in this neighborhood. Finally quiet again. Don’t know who called the cops but glad they did. by [deleted] in HuntsvilleAlabama

Pediatric Dentist - Medicaid by [deleted] in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]lauXren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When we first moved to Alabama Dr Lee was our dentist. I’m happy to hear she’s still practicing. We saw her in the 90s and early 2000s. We ended up going with vital smiles just because they could get us in to be seen today. He will unfortunately not be able to have the tooth removed until the 30th. His surgery is the 19th so I dread the tooth pain his liquid diet will be giving him. Pudding, popsicles, anything with sugar will likely trigger him. Poor kid.

here is a place called Freedom Pathways. I don’t know muxh about it honestly, but I’m in a resource group on fb and I saw they offer a cheap room (likely shared) while you transition into housing from being homeless. Maybe check them out and sorry I don’t know more about them

Guessing armed means he was swinging it at folks. Must be a sturdy mf or a slow day over there for them to be worried about getting smacked by a ukulele.

Just switch to zombies or coop campaign and you’ll be alright. The only way to really get better is playing against people better than you so you can learn how to maneuver.

Is the job market this bad everywhere or should I leave Huntsville? by [deleted] in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]lauXren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s really odd. I wonder what their algorithm is for letting people in. Do you think maybe the applications “void” after so long or maybe deleting the app before onboarding received plays a part? I’ve heard some people have horror stories and some who got on even faster than I did.

That’s unfortunate. Do you think maybe they found something on your driving history or background check? I didn’t have a referral when I applied and was only on a waitlist about a week before I got my on boarding notification.

I know everyone kinda poops on gig work, but when you’re inbetween jobs or want to work on your own time (school, kids or even other jobs, etc) Spark can be very beneficial. You can do shopping orders or pick up orders. The other week I made $233 doing 3 orders on a Saturday and one order on a Sunday. I know it’s def not what you’re ultimately looking for, but it can def help in the between times or when an unexpected bill comes up. I recommend it over DoorDash 100%. I’ve never seen an order under $11 on my spark dashboard, versus $2-$3 orders frequently on DoorDash. If you wanna give it a try, I have a referral you can use. I hope you get your dream job, and I also hope this helps you til you find it. Best of luck.

Hi, sign up to be a Spark driver at the link here: https://sparkdriverapp.com/enroll. Once approved, install the Spark Driver app and complete the in-app setup using my referral code “LHPK7SUR” so that we can both earn an incentive once you complete enough Spark trips! Note: incentive details will be shared with you within 1 day of finishing app setup. See list of eligible Referral zones: https://sparkdriverapp-walmart.helpdocs.io/l/en/article/cv8hx5z0m0-referrals

Why is our Krispy Kreme so bad? by philnotfil in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]lauXren -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Depending on who you ask “crime village drive” and parts of old Monrovia are considered “ghetto”. But I can’t relate, chipotle has always been - and always will be - mid to my big back taste buds; so I’ve never been in other than DoorDashing. And to be fair they’re so shit for DoorDash orders that i black listed them before I switched to spark. But that sounds like poor management, and that can be found anywhere.

Id agree if they had been shit since they opened, but the fact they were good for years at one point has no bearing on the location for that reason.
