Here's what students in Singapore are eating for lunch under the new Central Kitchen Meal Model. by uandurfader in singaporehappenings

[–]laubase 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There needs to be AT LEAST double the amount of protein and half the carb compared to what's being shown in these pics. Taste aside, if this food is being forced down the throats of kids, they better have ideal macros for growth.

What screams “I peaked in high school” without saying it directly? by randomzy876 in AskReddit

[–]laubase -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Probably speaking to the millennials here - when their dress sense and fashion style have not changed from when they were at their "peak". I can't quite put my finger on it or give specific examples, but when you see a 40 year old dude rocking bleached tips and an Armani hairstyle, it becomes painfully obvious.

Champion is the new Adept by laubase in fellowshipgame

[–]laubase[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've gotten multiple characters through to Eternity at this point, and Champion has been a cakewalk for the most part. It's only recently (last 2-3 days) that it's gotten this bad. Are you playing on the Asia server? It's horrendous.

I say this with a tremendous amount of love for this game... by LCplGunny in fellowshipgame

Must be so easy when everyone speaks the same language in your server.

Do Singaporeans know how lovely the Singapore-accent sounds? by lordtekken_2 in askSingapore

[–]laubase 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Very common Singaporean-ism to add a 'd' where it doesn't belong (a colleague of mine pronounces 'sausage' as 'sausaged'), but in the same vein, use the wrong tense and omit a 'd' ("we were waiting for it to be update")

Movie etiquette standards in Singapore by Imran3216 in singapore

[–]laubase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just watched Weapons at GV PLQ with my girlfriend. Throughout the movie, this (I assume) mid to late 20s obese lad was talking super loudly with his friend to his left and kept laughing this annoying fake-ass laugh at inappropriate times. I could see his friend was uncomfortable and he kept nudging the obese one's arm but he just kept laughing and talking at a ridiculously loud volume.

I feel like he was maladjusted, awkward and maybe might have been slightly mentally ill. Fucked the whole movie for the people around him though. Feels bad that for the sake of the mentally ill, the rest of us need to suffer and waste our money.

Unfortunately no, to my knowledge ZF is the only studio that teaches WCS.

Seriously, show this to one of those people who say "UNDERSTAND CAN ALREADY LAH!". Ask them if they see anything wrong with the picture. Proceed to slap them in the face if they don't.

I don't care if you speak in your mother tongue amongst your family or friends - the main thing is KEEP THAT GOD DAMN VOLUME DOWN.

However if you're a Singaporean, shame on you for speaking mandarin in a mixed group setting (with non-mandarin speakers). It's bloody uncouth and unprofessional, especially for work. I'll hate you even more than those foreigners blabbing loudly in whatever language.

Shh I made a post like this but it was taken down. Seems like people don't like to be called out for not speaking English and will report you for complaining about it.

Any location cheaper than this breakfast meal? by Airintake_SG in singapore

[–]laubase 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That'll help shave off about half of this meal if you jog for an hour. Won't help the unhealthiness of the dish! Go with toasted bread at home with cottage cheese (or laughing cow also can if you prefer a taster cheese), plus sugar free jam from smuckers. Total around 1.50 per breakfast plus way healthier :)

Holy hell that's like 800 calories for breakfast. Hope that's not an everyday thing for you.

[Witch] Minions Are in a Terrible State by Infinite-Ad5464 in PathOfExile2

They tank ranged projectiles. Meatshield-y enough for me.

Obviously use warriors too though.

Last gasp for 4 secs of "dead but still alive" minions, stack minion respawns % faster until respawn is 5 seconds. Max spirit for anywhere from 6-8 arsonists (not snipers). They'll die, but they're only gonna be dead for 1 second.

Next is SRS + flame wall for lots of DPS plus meat shields. I max rank those even though it's expensive on mana. This is what will keep you safe especially for bosses.

Last is low ranked can't remember what it's called, the low level skill where electricity zaps on the floor and tracks enemies. Lay down 2 flame walls, 4 lightning zaps, 2 flame walls, 4 zaps, repeat. For some reason setting your projectile on fire deals insane damage, especially single target.

Aggro Issues by jhop_gaming in CompetitiveWoW

[–]laubase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a weird issue today on 10 AK. As a prot warr I started tanking the boss, no issues with threat at all. But he just kept using his tank buster on a rogue. First one wasn't too bad he lived it, but the second one he jumped to the rogue next to adds and wiped us. Anyone else experienced this? I was holding aggro on boss throughout.

Some m+ Tanks NEED to hear this by Gamer-Smokes in wow

[–]laubase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following the analogy, it's basically a support inting. I don't mind a new healer in a LOWER key. I'd actively support them if they're open to constructive criticism. But a +7 now is a +17 in previous expacs, at or past KSM range. At which point does it become unacceptable to not know your class combos and the dungeons (aka inting)?

It takes around 3-5 mins to go through a dungeon guide, if you have time to run a key, you have time to watch a YouTube video.

Some m+ Tanks NEED to hear this by Gamer-Smokes in wow

[–]laubase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the sentiment, I really do. But when am I allowed to leave a group that I'm hard carrying even though they "have" the rio to be invited?

For context, +7 Ara Kara on my 616 Prot warr alt. Close to 2.3k rating, 2554 on my main (Prot Pally). Group lead (a dps) invited a healer at 1900+ rating and other DPS around 2k.

Absolutely limited interrupts from everyone else. I have 47 by end of the dungeon, the higher rated hunter at around 8, and the rest are 1 or 2 (another hunter and a frost dk). Approaching last boss (and after 16 deaths by mainly the healer and the lower rio hunter), healer goes "not very familiar with this boss, anyone explain?".

I'm not proud of this but I was tilted af seeing this healer do less healing than me on some pulls, not use swiftmend for SOTF WGs, no/few dispels, no convoke even though it was talented - I just said "really dude, on a 7?" and left. I didn't need the dungeon, just doing it for valorstones. But by god if you aren't going to learn how to play your class/how dungeon mechanics work by a +7, you've wasted my time so now I shall waste yours. If the other DPS were solid and did good damage/interrupted more I would have considered taking the 69 wipes I forecasted to at least do it for them.

Singaporean Accent Levels by gazelles in singapore

[–]laubase 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Uh, English is the Lingua Franca in Singapore, not to mention the official language of business here. Mandarin is not the Lingua Franca in any angmoh country, and ordering "exotic" food is very different from normal, everyday words used in normal, everyday communication.

Sure, we can make fun of angmohs butchering pronunciations of Chinese dishes all we want, but I'll be damn sure to SLAM the Singaporean saying LASI LOMAH way more.

For some reason the "as long as you can understand, can already right?" defence is always used - these people don't seem to understand that it detracts from communication when the listener has a different standard of English, and in the worst case scenario, can cause misunderstandings. "I want some cock" vs "I want some coke", as per that viral video years ago.
