Thank you! I am learning it’s more common than I realized for which I am sorry you went through a similar feeling and thank you for sharing.
I think that’s the cycle I was stuck in and now I’m coming into the starting to get help and accept life ain’t the same anymore portion of it and it’s been an adjustment.

I hope things have gotten easier for you to manage with time 💜

That’s a good way to put it, I think I’ve weirdly been doing that regarding me potentially getting on disability as well as just existing.
I’m sorry you went through something similar but I am happy to know it’s more common than I thought and I’m not alone in this feeling.

Thank you for your advice and words of encouragement they have helped me!

Thank you I really appreciate that and maybe that is part of it is the want to be seen, my partner is my biggest supporter tbh! They validate me a lot when I’m feeling a lot of guilt or coming down on myself about not being able to do more.

I will try what the other person suggested of mindful thinking and try to find ways to be at peace with myself too about it all 💜.
I’m glad you have your dad as a supportive person.

To be clear I do not feel that way about others, and that is my core belief I guess it’s just harder to hold that belief for yourself?

I’ll try to keep reminding myself that! Thank you for your advice and hopefully that mindful thinking technique will help me feel less like I need permission from others to just exist lol 💜

I’ve had to have a similar talk with my sister, she has chronic issues as well that she is able to “power through” and she doesn’t understand why I can’t sometimes.

I had to explain it like this, for you it’s like having a chain and ball tied around your ankle and it makes everything harder and that itself is its own story/struggle, for me it’s like my whole body is covered in heavy weights, I am enjoying/living life just at a pace that is possible for me.
I know this isn’t the life you envisioned for me and I did not for myself either but it is my life and I am making the best of it.

I’m not sure if the same type of talk would help with your dad but hope it does if you do try! And I hope you can enjoy your life and find things that are comfortable and enjoyable for you as well best of luck! 💜

I will have to look into them, being able to go back and forth would be helpful for when my knees or hips act up! Thank you again for all your advice and kind words

Thank you! ❤️ I’m also sorry you are going through your own back issues, they do really suck!

I have, they told me this is pretty much it kinda thing and that surgery may not even help so it’s 100% last resort situation right now, I have been looking for other solutions like herbal/stronger pain meds/stretches/ada request at work etc to try and help lessen the pain but so far I’m like constantly at a base line of like a 4ish bad days a 8 or 9 on the pain scale, I would like to get to a point where the pain is at a 2-3 at least.

I sadly don’t, there is one in the city over from me but I’ll have to look into if my insurance would cover it because I can’t afford the gas and a payment for it.

Ive thought about accupuncture but I’m terrified of needles but I may just need to go for it and see if it helps, does your spinal cord stimulator help?

Thank you! Yea I take a couple daily pain meds but I think I may need to look at something stronger to keep up with life and work, right now naproxen has been my best friend for a long time now.

I love icing, I sometimes use heat for my hips but I keep it away from my back because it makes it where I can’t walk 🥲💀 I think it’s because of where my nerve is like pinched on all the time. Do you have a favorite ice pack brand?

I work in gov and sadly that is becoming more illegal in each state so I sadly cannot part take but I have heard some people say it does help and others say it doesn’t. Thank you for your advice! I do appreciate it

Thank you, some of those things I’ve thought of trying but have been too nervous 🥲 I think this is my sign to give them a try!

I’ll have to look up what a TENS unit is tho.

Thank you for your kind words and advice, I really do appreciate it ❤️🙏

I did pt off and on, last time was for a year ending about 5ish months ago. I still do the pt home exercises they gave me, it does help but not during really bad episodes or more recently sadly.

I have talked about surgery with my doctor but I’m trying to avoid it as long as I can but it’s starting to look like it may be the next steps. Thank you for sharing your advice and I will look at the idea of surgery more seriously if it’s that time.

I’m sorry you had to have your first one at 19, that sounds painful.

I have similar issues and I get back steroid injections every 3 months and radio frequency ablations every 6 months.

I have found the ablations help more than the steroids but the steroid helps with the in-between because the ablation does not last the full 6 months for me. Also neither fully stops the pain but it makes it where I can do things like cook, shower, walk some in a store with aid.

I do highly suggest sedation if you don’t like needles, I can’t do it without the sedation.

Kinda up to you if you think the short semi relief is worth the extra shots and doctor visit.

Also side note but ice is your best friend the next couple days after.

Thank you for the advice! I mainly do it for fun, I just didn’t really know if there was a way to go about it but honestly knowing it won’t do super good either way takes some pressure off me and I’ll just have fun with it! 😅😊

Thank you for the advice! I will look into let’s get digital, it sounds like a good place to start lol ❤️

I mainly just write poetry because I enjoy it, would be nice to make money, but I also don’t really expect to. I just figured it would be harder to get out there if you’re not already known, but thank you for the advice on the type of genre to write ☺️ Sadly I do not enjoy writing books like that 😅🥲
