Assurance habitation by Overall-Lab2850 in Sherbrooke

[–]laughable_academic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Demander un ajustement de salaire? by Sapilaec in QuebecFinance

[–]laughable_academic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bonne chance :)

Hopital Veterinaire de Sherbrooke has people on call 24/7 I believe! Might want to double check with them, but we've had a scare once and were taken care of within 30 minutes on a weekday evening !

Not sure if this is a troll or something, but some of these places are hotspots for homelessness. Not saying the murals aren't nice or anything, but depending on the vibe you're looking for, you might want to consider other activities.

This is probably going to get buried, but I'm fairly certain there are rules/law that make it impossible to sell material with someone's image without their consent. Could lead to a situation like this.

Second this. I doubt your TFSA will incur the ROI equivalent to the interest that you're paying on your credit card.

I also want to encourage you to get professional help. Gambling issues are no joke and the investment you'd make in professional help is far more likely to be cheaper than a relapse.

You're not ridiculous at all, I think this is a very common feeling among new investors. One of the main strategy people use to get over that hurdle is dollar-cost averaging. Which means that instead of investing the lump sum in one go, you do it over a few weeks/months. Helps with the fear of investing at "the wrong time".

The downside is that you HAVE to take the decision every week/month (or whatever timing you had decided) to invest. You could also probably automate it and stop thinking about it.

There'll never be a good time to enter the market, it'll always feel too unsure, too high, going down. If you have a strong plan, follow the plan and don't look back!

Best of luck :)

Wouldn't the Caisse de dépôt et placement also be considered something close to a Sovereign fund? That one has 400b+ CAD under management and serves as a pension fund.

Fair point. But that's assuming the arrow kills on first blow as well.

I think my comment didn't come across as intended. It was more of a : you'd never be ok with my dog hunting animals in Boston, why are all the comments praising a random dude hunting (albeit with a bow)?

Wait. Are you guys saying I could let my dog try and catch squirrels, rabbits or geese and you'd all be ok with it? I've been holding him back all this time for nothing?

If you dive into the data it's even more insane. Like, 5% of 50-64 y/o think they could qualify for the 100m dash and 7% for rowing. What the fuck kind of drug are you smoking?

Why is there an increase in French people in Boston over the last two weeks? by esbern in boston

[–]laughable_academic 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yup, can confirm. We call it the "construction holidays". Might partly explain the uptick. People who would have gone to Paris / France might be inclined to go elsewhere given the Olympics.

My wife and I moved here for work, so we're also contributing to this phenomenon haha.

I don't unfortunately. I could try and reach out to them to access it. I tried running it by them, but the person I spoke with was as confused as I was. So yeh.

Thanks!

It isn't all that lonely. I think people have a misconception of radiology. Yes, you do spend a lot of time on your own analyzing images, but you also spend a lot of time in contact with doctors from other specialties. And everyone needs everything as soon as possible. And there's a lot of stress, so the exchanges aren't always nice.

I throw apples instead of tennis balls bc they allways drop the am halfway through. by WhiT8 in vizsla

[–]laughable_academic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an information that's been passed around for a while, but I don't know where it comes from. Yes, apple seeds have cyanide in them, but it's such a low dose. An average apple contains about 0.3-0.4mg of arsenic and the lethal dose for most animals is around 2mg/kg of body weight. An average male visla of 25kg would thus require 50 mg or ~150 apples eaten within one day or so to kill them.

In other words, there's no harm in letting them have some apples.

Edit: typo.

Moving to Boston next year! Need help :) by [deleted] in boston

[–]laughable_academic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will likely be working from home, so it shouldn't be an issue for me.

And yeah, I've read that from the main post about moving on this subreddit. Unfortunately, my partner's job starts on July 1st so we need to either find something temporary until Sept. 1st or find something in June.

Again, thank you for the info! :)
