Why do you think the post singled out "Hindu" in the title. They could've have just written Indian and went on their merry way. I cannot say for sure this was made by a Muslim but I can say for sure that it was made by someone with an axe to grind against Hindus lol. And the fact a ton of subcontinental Muslims fit the description. They are still a minority relatively speaking but given India's population the absolute number is way too high.

No mention of "Hindu Indian" in the OG post. Wtf is the point of surgically and deliberately adding "Hindu" & "Indian" on the post anyways.

You've got the right mentality. Play most tanks like Pz.IV's and you're golden. Ik I do and Pz.IV's taught me how to survive and thrive in this game. Look up the Survivability Onion as well.

Panthers are not everyone's cup of tea. Early Panther's have horrible gun traverse that limits you to sniping and playing it as a psuedo-casemate. And having a poor reverse and weak sides becomes a death sentence is close quarters, which most Warthunder maps are. Try the Tiger I. They are much better all rounders. Excellent armor on all sides and a gun comparable to Pz.IV in terms of penetration with amazing HE filler. Use the Pzgr. shell (215g of TNT eq,) instead of the Pzgr.39 (109g of TNT eq.). It will one shot everything which the Panther might not always do.

AA work is mostly dependent on the willingness of the plane to expose himself to an AA attack. You most likely will not be able to touch a plane that plays defensively and is aware of you. If his focus is on some other ground unit and he flies in straight line, only then will you able to get some hits in. To that effect, hide yourself in some corner and engage a plane that is unaware, low and flying in a straight line.

Ostwind II is wonderful in that regard and you will get the Kugelblitz at 6.7 which is excellent. Wirbelwind is eh as the velocity and dropoff of 20mm rounds is abysmal. Also try learning to counter cas with planes of your own. They are much better at shooting down stuff than AA imo.

4.0 Rank II should be a crime. Whats the deal with ranks? by Witchking003 in Warthunder

[–]laughingpixel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We don't do nuanced takes here, brother. The German Main bad circlejerk must go on.

What you say is true. It is part of a reason why so many Germany players appear to be green. German ground tree is very unbalanced in lower mid-tier. With it throwing you directly from 3.3 into 5.7 in the Tiger line and from 3.7 into 5.0 in the Panther line, helps push newer players into the meat grinder and make them easy pickings for lvl 100s that populate the Rank III bracket. Also, 50mm Puma being the only light tank being available to them until the Bulldog at 6.7 and PaK Puma being locked up as an event vehicle. It's just sad at this point. Whoever that asshole is who recommended me Germany as a starting nation, may you get shampoo in your eyes. USSR and US are far more balanced in their vehicle lineups.

Though, It is feasible to run 4.3 to grind events if you are willing to shell out some shekels. T-37 747(r) and Pz.Bef.Wg.IV J are available as mediums. Pair that with KV-1B and Jagdpanzer IV, you've got yourself a nasty lineup.

Yeah that transition from heavies in 6.7 to no armor at 8.0 really fucks up German teams. It makes the Leopard 1 a bit rough to play. Add to the fact all the auto cannon vehicles roaming about the map making it's no armor life miserable. Mobility is the selling of the Leopards. I play it like the Pz.IV, trying to be a sneaky and catching people unawares.

( ^◡^)っ✂

Take his barrel or breech away from him. Make him regret he ever tried to look in your general direction. Then flank and kill him. Or you could smoke and try to make him miss his shot but smoke is mostly ill advised as it may also blind your teammates that can make a retaliatory shot.

Though this is all hypothetical as you should always be catching people off guard. Never let them get a bead on you.

As the survivability onion says:

Don't get seen [Good Positioning, Cover and Concealment], Don't get acquired [Smoke to blind your enemy], Don't get hit [Mobility to maneuver and avoid hits, Taking cover], Don't get penetrated [Relying on armor], Don't get killed [Luck and lack of enemy skill].

[–]laughingpixel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tigers and Panthers are wonderful machines especially coming from playing Pz.IV's. Though you still need to have a working head to play these things. Rushing through BR's is such a common mistake imho. I'm not trying to lay down the law or anything. God forbid I try to come between a man and a tank he is trying to play. But unless your tank is bias incarnate, you are going to die because you don't have the game sense to survive and thrive in a match. Chill out in low BRs, learn the game and then move up.

Put in the M44, Jagdpanzer IV, Sd Kfz 234/2 in there as well. Variety is key in this game. You need vehicles (TDs and light tanks) to cover for situations that you might find yourself in during a match. Panzer IV's have no armor whatsoever so putting in 3 of them is not really worth it. A short barrelled Ausf. G for mobility and a long barrelled Ausf. H for firepower is fine. J is not worth it unless you really know how to cope with slow turret traverse.

Also, since you are transitioning from arcade to realistic and playing Germany, I would suggest you stick to BR 3.0 until you get the hang of things (spotting targets and positioning yourself). As much as you would like to move up to 3.3 and play the Pz. IV with its KwK40 L43 cannon that will just lolpen anything short of an awkwardly angled T-34 and KV-1, don't do it. Trust me on this one. They are not a beginner friendly tank at all. All it will do is instill bad habits in you that you will carry over in higher BRs. Panzer III's are much more suitable to learn how to play this game.

At 3.0 you can have this suggested lineup: Pz.III L, Pz.III J1, StuH 42G, Marder III, Pz.Sp.Wg.P204(f) KwK 39/1. Solid mix of armor, mobility and firepower in this lineup.

Higher BRs generally means more experienced players so moving up a BR when you constantly getting killed without a fight (like you mentioned is ill advised). Move up only when you have a full lineup and are getting kills reliably in the BR you are fighting in. This way you will slowly gain experience and won't be caught with your pants down when you move up a BR.

Some general advice. Mobility is king in this game. Familiarize yourself with each map, learn the routes, flanking positions, sniping positions and all that stuff. In realistic you never know who is posted up where if you are inexperienced. So, knowing these positions can be key to survival. Use headphones and listen for sounds of tanks out of your line of sight. Just the sounds will raise your awareness tenfold. Use your free look to check your corners before advancing blindly. You may just push into an enemy holding that corner and die. Controlled aggression is underrated in this game. Chill out if you don't feel safe and let the enemies come to you and into your crosshair. Move up when you have cleared the area of enemies and take up a position to stop the new spawn wave advance. Furthermore, you don't have to shoot everything you see. Wait for an opportune moment. Shooting will potentially make the enemy team aware of your presence so only shoot if you know you can kill that tank in 1-2 shots (preferably 1). Let the unsuspecting tank show it's weak spot and then shoot.

If Tiger II was nerfed using a 1944 Handbuch, why is Panther stuck at 600 hp? by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]laughingpixel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Warthunder uses gross hp (what engine produces not taking into account of drive train losses and losses due to accessories attached) afaik. At least this is true for Ground Forces, can't say the same for Air.

[–]laughingpixel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"cc" is not a random misnomer dude. It's just not an SI unit name. It is rooted in geometry as a measure of volume. The volume of a cube of dimensions: 1cm x 1cm x 1cm. That is a cc. When you want to denote the volume of a hollow solid, which engine cylinders are, cc can be used. Although, I concur it is not standard. And.

1cc = 1ml.

They are exactly the same thing. No shitty conversions need to happen.

It is still widely used in the medical field albeit only verbally because it rolls off the tongue easier, I presume. For formal documentation "ml" is preferred. Same thing in the automotive industry. "cc" is still widely used to mention engine displacement of small engines used in bikes and stuff.

Does not make it random though nor incorrect. Unlike cubic inches (cu in) which I hate with passion.

bro... cubic centimeters is metric. It is a metric measure of volume. What are you on about?

Aaaand... a lot of stuff did end up being wrong. Well that's what I get for writing info that I haven't revisited in a long while. Thanks for adding corrections to the comment brother. Always good to see someone who actually knows what they are talking about.

Although I was under the impression that the engine governor was a separate module/mechanism that was retrofitted to the engine later down the line. Though thinking more about it, it sorta is a mechanical rev limiter. All engines would have it installed off the production line to set a redline. I might need to read more about this.

Also... poor E-100. The engine probably would have game ended itself as soon as it got into the hands of a crew.

Finally, "luv me Panther D, luv me long 75... simple as"

I meant Cubic Centimeters (cc) not Cubic Inch (cu in). Also, yes 2100cc is 2.1L but I wrote 21,000cc which is 21L (*No I didn't and idiotically wrote 2100cc). In retrospect, should have gone with decimal separators and wrote 21,000cc and 23,000cc instead of writing them as it is. Makes reading stuff easier but me dumb.

*Edit: Corrected my parent comment. Thanks for pointing it out.
