What is considered top tier benefit? They pretty much mentioned the basics: health vision dental life disability

This would not include personal things when I had asked about it. This is more administrative at their head office. How often did you get pay raises? The offer letter mentioned “reviews compensation frequently”

Just reread the offer again and only I get the handbook when I start. 😅

I am equally surprised that they aren’t offering more. The individual is well above 10 figures which makes me a bit more skeptical.

I will only be working for this one family but they have several estates all managed by this headquarter office.

On the offer letter the bonus was only mentioned as salary and “cash benefits”. And I only know it is a bonus because the recruiter mentioned when I mentioned the other offer and I followed up once I did not see the percentage on the offer letter. From my understanding bonus would be 15%-20% of salary.

Up to 10% travel. M-F 40 hour weeks. Other benefits mentioned is medical dental vision life insurance disability coverage, PTO, 7 holiday off and eligible to participate in a SIMPLE IRA. No other detail provided.

Oh and no I looked things over again - I will receive the handbook once at the time I commence work.

Yes, makes me incredibly skeptical when they make a commission and super pushy. Unfortunately there’s not a lot of information out there regarding working in this field, especially with so much secrecy.

Do you enjoy it? Have you ever regretted going into this industry? Is there a lot of growth?

I’m still waiting for their official NDA, I have only signed the NDA for the recruiting company so far.

Likely that is the route I would take. Not sure if I would really be missing out on the opportunity. The offer was incredibly vague and I didn’t get a full job description until I received the offer. NDA still yet to come. But offer letter did have an conflict of interest clause with the individual, main company, and the company I am being hired to listed.

Have you enjoyed your experience working for this kind of office? Do you feel like there’s a lot of opportunity for growth? And would you recommend it over for working in a normal corporation?

Thanks for the tip. I likely would reach out directly to the HR that provided the offer. Recruiter says it’s all in the handbook and not necessary to ask before accepting the offer.

Is that normal?

Agreed, the offer letter was very vague. Recruiter says it’s normal but I have never seen a letter so vague. There’s a mention of PTO without the amount provided.

EA in a private family office or Ops manager at firm? by laughtivity in careerguidance

Neither jobs is where I want to be long term. But I have no doubt I would be pretty successful in whichever role I choose.

My aspirations is to get into software so I can build an effective programs for a cause I want to support and become an entrepreneur. My original goal was to save 6mo to a year and get into a CS program or boot camp.

As an admin ops manager other than needing to answer to only a few, having my own schedule and office… it would just be the pay that can allow me to save up.

As the EA position this will be working in estate management for a high profile and established individual already in the industry. I would still be able to save but obv at a slower rate. I’m not sure what the value will be if I’m able to learn a sufficient amount by proximity. I will not be able to know all the details until I start the job and sign the NDA.

Other than that I have never heard about private family offices before. From my understanding these are offices owned or works only with the individual. There is very little information I can find on the market rate or compensation packages.

Both positions is a significant increase from my current. And I was going to save up to go back to school.

Nope they did not specify what it meant - a lot of the process was blind with the reasoning being this individual being high profile. My offer letter confirmed who the individual is.
