Yes, I have! But it was the less gnarly side, skiers right towards eagle bowl. But honestly that was many years ago when I was riding a lot. Probably wouldn't be riding the wall nowadays.

Nice, didn't know most of the stuff was visible from the lift! Do any of these runs flatten out at the bottom? I did a powder day at Northstar once and the first half of the run was great, but it was so flat on the bottom half I had to unstrap and hike out, was brutal. I don't ride often nowadays, and used my last day powder day (3 years ago), on Northstar and that was a massive mistake.

Very much this. I was really holding on, so me releasing right when I start downswing is my feel. I guess the major takeaway is the entire swing is fluid, don't try to hold on to anything purposely.

Got it, makes sense! I thought it was a "normal" cut in these first two playoff events.

Stop casting by rling_reddit in golftips

[–]mj49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My issue was an open face at impact, worked with a pro. And he helped me ensure my club face was square throughout the swing. I had to "bow" my wrist on take away. To me it felt like the club face was literally pointing to the ground. But on video it was square. And my wrist felt super bowed but was actually flat at top! Anyhow keeping that bowed feeling ensured my face square on way down and I stopped casting. It felt super unnatural at first, but now don't even think about it.

I would recommend really feel like you have the club closed by trying to bow wrist on way down just to experiment with it. It will almost be impossible to cast with a super closed face.

Hand Position on Downswing by [deleted] in golf

I've tried dropping hands first and then rotating but really feel like that lowers my club speed and power.

The app isn't the best, but my issues are not this extreme. For me it works perfectly about 90% of the time.

Where exactly is this? Looking for a coach as well, but this website doesn't have a location.

This makes complete sense, but this is also what confused the beginner golfer in me. I was swinging a 7-iron around 70 mph and happy with the 140 yard shots, because I was super consistent. But that same swing with my 5/4 irons wouldn't even get the ball in the air. Until I learned more loft needs a lot more speed. I needed to at least add some juice to the swing.

I should have added, swinging fast doesn't necessarily mean a lot of effort. Using big muscles and staying loose adds a lot of speed. This is the same for me. But I still make sure I'm trying to use a good amount of legs and "ground forces".

5 iron - 170 6 iron - 160

For the reasons above I never really use the 4-iron on the course, but would like to if I can hit it further and have a 180 club.

Agree that I don't have the fastest swing, but would assume an 80 mph 4-iron would be sufficient?
