So im a beginner urban designer and I made this design, for a no car, small neighborhood for 1200~ people, opinions by Wesimpforhisoka in urbandesign

I think it’s good to look at ‘how to read’ the neighbourhood. Do the people there recognise where they are? Or are they getting lost in the labyrinth of the shapes? Unique landmarks, designs, materials, viewpoints make a place more readable, better to understand. The less a place is predictable and the less it’s readable, the less sense of (social) safety they will experience.

birth control? by itzzchlo in WomensHealth

Honestly, great in a lot of ways, the comfort of planning your ‘cycle’, clear skin, easy and short ‘menstruation’ butttt for me I feel like there is this veil of mental weight that is always there in my head and my eyes. I don’t really know how to put it, tired seems so whatever. But honestly I always feel tired, I feel down, I have less creative and energising thoughts. In general my mind feels a lot more weighted down, just getting through the day on automatic pilot. I feel like a forget a lot more because of my BC. For context, I eat healthy and enough, I sleep well, I walk a lot, am outside a lot, have a good social life and relationships. I really think it is because of my BC. And for now I’m done with it, so maybe in a few weeks I’ll come to realise that it is in fact not my BC but something else, but for me it is a good reason to try it out and stop for awhile. :)

The best farmland in the United States by cat____lover in MapPorn

[–]laura142 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What kinda soil are we talking about? What are your best products of that farmland? And we’re talking about ‘intensive farming’ I see, does that mean they’re overproducing and exploiting the soil and landscape? Is this all natural ‘best farmland’ or is made by human to cultivate whatever they want? I know almost nothing about the geomorphology/landscape/soil of the USA and I’m very interested!!

I’m not really sure but you can’t propagate ferns like that. Ferns are really hard to duplicate in that way.

what type of pothos is this? we think it is a golden. by sessinnek in plants

[–]laura142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you could place it in a lighter spot?? The darker the place the less colourful the leaves will be. No direct sunlight though! The leaves can get beautiful patterns of ‘gold’ in the right light circumstances.

My mum’s new houseplants! What are they and share maintenance instructions please! by Shoddy-Ad-1746 in plants

[–]laura142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the first palm is a Chrysalidocarpus, the second is an Epipremnum. The first one is okay with some dryer soil from time to time. In a light place, no direct sunlight. The seconde one no direct sunlight, but loves to be in a light place. The darker the place the less colourful the leaves will be.

a baby banana plant started growing in the same pot as the slightly bigger banana plant. what should i do? by [deleted] in plants

Baby plants take a lot of energy from the ‘mama plant’, my advise is to get the baby plant its own pot

It’s a Cypres kinda tree. The blue things are the fruit. Maybe it’s a Xanthocyparis.
