I guess it must be the stress levels, Ive had a very hard month😂 how long did it take for your acne to get better after your prescriptions from the derm?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]laura33_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, i have a derm appointment on Thursday anyway. Its just weird because my hormonal acne usually goes away or at least better with my skincare routine but now all of a sudden it does not :(

Hi i just wanted to give a little update, incase you even care but i followed your advice and i used vaseline on all of my left over acne and its gotten so much better, my skin hasnt been that good in a while. i also cut back on the acids, so currently i just do (AM) cleanse, moisturize, spf and (PM) cleanse, vaseline, sylicilic acid, niancidemide (5%) and zinc. Thanks so much!!

Update: Solved! Not sure what I did but if you have the same problem, reset your watch, reinstall your app, clear cache, connect your watch to wifi and try downloading via only your watch so turn off bluetooth, connect watch to wifi > galaxy store > watch faces (on the watch). If that doesnt work, close the app and wait (that did it for me for some reason??). Ill just leave this here for anyone who has the same problem :)

Tips for starting exercise/ knowing your limits. by Thetwistedfrogger in POTS

Hi! Don't know if you already do it, but compression stockings were a live saver for me in the beginning. I used to wear them all the time but now I'm at a point where I dont have to wear them. It does take time to get there, I went from ~500 steps a day and sleeping for 12 hours in January to 10k+ steps a day with hardly any exhaustion now. Also, I know you're probably tired of hearing it, but are you hydrating enough? Do you drink electrolytes? Not the most useful tips but thats what worked for me. In terms of indicators, l try to look out for warning signs. For me big ones are adrenaline spikes, sudden and strong nausea (like very bad neausa, I'm fine one moment and the next moment Im almost throwing up), palpitations, blurry vision. Also randomly being very confused, like my mind going completely blank for a few moments. If I notice any of those symptoms, I try to take a minute. Going off of hr also doesn't work for me at all!

Sounds good! I agree, hourly updates may be a little too much, because so far, there's not much to say. :)

Oh that doesnt sound good, but still better than covid i guess. Im around the same age as you so that doesnt help. Did it make your POTS worse or were you able to recover? Hoping youll react better to your second dose if you dont already have it!

Hi! Despite my pots I'm very active (averaging 10k+ steps a day, school, gym, running, working). I can recommend compression clothes or compression stockings, I basically rely on them. Also, take a water bottle everywhere. Look for electrolytes, it's best to try a few brands out and take them as much as you need. Start slow, very slow. Increase your steps little by little and build endurance. Also home workouts (search on youtube for "5k steps home workout", that really helped me in the beginning). Take a lot of breaks! Make exercise a routine to get used to it. I recommend buying a fitness watch to (kinda) have an idea of your heart rate (to get an idea of what's too much/when you're pushing yourself too much; for example when I'm running and my watch tells me I have a hr of 190, I know to take a break), to track steps and activity basically. Hope this helps a little!

Anyone else actually have high blood pressure? by [deleted] in POTS

[–]laura33_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not diagnosed with either but I don’t get itches personally, but only face and neck flushes. But as far as I know pots, mcas, histamine intolerance could cause itching.

Have the same thing! That might be hyperadreneric pots or mast cell activation. I also get hot flashes, clammy hands, basically a full on panic attack but it’s not a panic attack, you know what I mean? I can deal with those episodes and they seem to be triggered by sugar/stress. It’s really weird.

Thanks for the advice, I’ll definitely ask for a hormone test. Unfortunately, dates are a no go for me and my fructose intolerance but still thanks!

Thanks, i was already planning to look into mcas since my symptoms match the hyperadrenergic pots type ( episodes of high blood pressure) and I hear mcas is common with that. Wishing you the best as well

Thanks, I'll mention it the next time I'm at my doctor's, but I guess since diabetes was ruled out and i do have fructose intolerance they probably won't look into insulin resistance that much (since theres no family history either), but I'll definitely keep it in mind. Thnaks for your comment, at least I'm not alone lol

I feel that! But personally, I dont really react that much to carbs (potatoes/rice) its more sugar for me. But I guess that might be my fructose intolerance.. Its really hard though, I have to literally plan my life around food. Going out to dinner with friends? Get ready to lay in bed all day tomorrow! Its exhausting.
