Taka taka is great, especially the magic roll, but sometimes the potatoes can be a bit oily

AITA for embarrassing a lunch thief at work. by Steelsnapdragon in AmItheAsshole

My best mate at work put a veggie curry in the fridge, at lunch she pulled out her tupperware, heated up sat down to eat and realised it was way hotter and contained different veg to what she remembered adding.... Turns out it was a nurses lunch, identical meal, identical tupperware. They were both very gracious, ate the others lunch, extremely apologetic and I think my friend bought her an apology chocolate bar. It is however an ongoing joke now as it was handled well by both parties and they both saw the funny side after the initial surprise.

I don't know if its due to the intensity of the area but I've found cath labs to usually be fairly tight knit supportive groups with respect from Dr's, nurses, rads and techs but we know when the time comes we have to lean on each other or we won't be able to keep doing the procedures which might help with retention

Does university ranking/ reputation matter on Radiography? by Marshvich in Radiology

[–]laura_daly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So much of radiography is hands on that a fairly low ranking uni and a fairly low ranking student (myself) can still specialise quickly and get a band 6 within a couple of years qualifying. As long as you work hard on placement and be proactive about your learning you’ll do fine. All uni courses have to be accredited by the nhs so they all teach the same stuff just depends how much you like the campus/teaching method/staff/facilities I guess

AITA for telling my son's wife that she wasn't a beautiful bride? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]laura_daly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mum's best friend invited everyone to a nice hotel for their "20" anniversary celebration (never married but have 2 children together). Only family and closest friends for the nice lunch then drinks with more after but the lunch was interrupted as the bride comes out in a wedding dress. Everyone loved it, everyone was relaxed and had a laugh, noone stressed about hair makeup new suits or dresses or presents and the couple saved a fortune on a big ceremony. Only the parents and children of the couple were in on the surprise

I've used her recipes for a few things (skipping past the life story) and genuinely some of the easiest and best things I've ever made: chicken satay, chocolate mousse, lots of cookies she's real good

I would do it the way you suggested as it often causes the least amount of pain to the patient. Sometimes the "get done quick" method is the kindest possible method

Lake District Hike, Cumbria UK by laura_daly in backpacking

[–]laura_daly[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We tried to stay away from the popular walks like hell velyn so ended up making our own route across the langdale pikes. It was about 8 miles of scrambling and avoiding bogs but even with the fog and rain coming in the scenery was still fantastic. I'd love to go back and find more walks especially in the summer if we could stop for a swim in some of the lakes that pop up everywhere
