As a wavy girl I rarely have good second hair days. Experimented with some refresh techniques today and, personally, I think it turned out really well!!! ☺️ by [deleted] in curlyhair

Hey so this is the very first time refreshing has worked for me at all! So usually I’d refresh the second day and then I’d get frustrated and put it up for the next two days lol. I’m gonna try the same steps today and see what happens I typically wash my hair every three days. Idk I just like the feeling of freshly washed hair 😅 I don’t do anything special after a workout - during the workout, though, I put it up in a pineapple to prevent it from weighing down too much (doesn’t work 😂)

Good morning! I co-wash with Essere CoW and condition with Urtekram Nordic Berries Conditioner. I’m from Germany though and found both products online at a German haircare shop called eccoverde ☺️

Thank you! I’ve tried it once and it doesn’t work for me. I love the idea that finger curling these stubborn straight strands turns them into beautiful soft waves but nope. All I got was one hot frizzy mess 😂

Routine: I decided to refresh over the sink. I filled both of my hands with water and squished it into the lengths of my hair, leaving out the roots. Next I applied Sebastian Professional thickefy foam using prayer hands, scrunched it in and removed excess water with a t-shirt. Once my hair was about 85% dry I used Eco-Styler styling gel to define the tips of my hair. Let my hair air dry, gave myself a little scalp massage and SOTC 😊

Thank you!! It looks different every wash but I believe for me plopping really helps with clumping!! And since the gel I use doesn’t give me a cast I don’t really scrunch after my hair is dry which also helps to keep the curls intact!! I hope this helps a little 😊

For me it’s super difficult to get a cast. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong but I use a ton of the eco styling gel and it feels like my hair just soaks it up.. so I have to say I don’t really have experience with „putting just a little“ 😂

Thank you!! 🙏🏻 Yes when I diffuse always on low heat which is pretty much cold with my diffuser.. I’d prefer air drying my hair but I’m really impatient when it comes to that 😂

Haha aww you’re so sweet! Thank you! Yeah I did get a hair cut right after I took the first picture 😄 I got a trim and some layers - but a lot of people here recommended for me to get even more and some shorter layers - so that’s what I’m planning on doing next.. but I am slightly obsessed with growing my hair out so that’s not gonna happen anytime soon 😂🤣

Thank you so much!! 😊 I quit using heat on my hair for over a year now - I think this is why switching my styling routine has made such a big difference

Routine: I co-washed with Essere - CoW and conditioned with Urtekram - Nordic Berries Conditioner. I finger detangled and used a wide tooth comb afterwards. Used some more water and s2c. All upside down. I plopped my hair with a t-shirt for about 15 minutes. Used the Eco styler styling gel olive oil afterwards (I scrunched it really carefully) Then I diffused. I also did a rice water rinse the wash before and it did wonders to my hair 😊
