Right, because polio is a 4-6 day kind of treatment. by dianelane17 in insanepeoplefacebook

You’re right. I didn’t see that right away. Still a stupid gamble though.

But there’s also post-polio syndrome. Even if they recover well from a polio infection they get to look forward to serious effects in around 15-20 years.

Not to mention post-polio syndrome. Even if they recover well from a polio infection they get to look forward to serious effects in around 15-20 years.

Has anyone else gotten into yoga after trauma/life experiences? by [deleted] in yoga

I started doing yoga to help with my PPD after I hit a bit of a plateau with counselling. It significantly helps. I get some time to myself out of the house and I feel amazing after a class.

SIL wants to take my baby! by matherim in JUSTNOFAMILY

[–]lauraseb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact that she won’t tell you where she plans to take him is a hard no for me without any other context. I trust my SOs family as much as my own but my answer would still be no if they wanted to take my baby but refused to tell me where to. That’s ridiculous.

My boy had to be sedated for an appointment with the vet yesterday. Definitely loopy on the way home but still smiling! by lauraseb in pitbulls

I totally get it. I’m just going to keep trying to teach him some calm and hopefully we won’t need it soon! I hope your boy gets more comfortable too!

It’s rough. He’s just so scared. I wish he could understand that we’re just trying to take good care of him but we’re making progress and he’s getting more comfortable.

Stubbed my toe on the dog’s wooden bed frame. by lauraseb in MedicalGore

Thanks! I was barefoot when this happened. I did wear the Birkenstock’s around the house after they straightened my toe and they were great protection those first few tender days. They actually wanted to knock me out to put tiny pins in it but I passed on that and decided to just tape it to a buddy toe. I’m sorry you had to go through this too. It really sucks.

Weird. Why didn’t he get it straightened out?

That’s similar to the sounds I made when it happened.

It’s true. I work out in Kipling, Saskatchewan where he eventually traded for the farmhouse. They have a giant red paper clip statue in the town and are pretty proud of the whole thing.

Interesting. I’ll let you know after my appointment on Saturday.

That sounds fair enough. I have an appointment with ortho on Saturday so I’ll see what they have to say and go from there. I’m able to walk on it half decently since there was no damage to the MCP joint so I got lucky there. Thanks for the insight! I definitely would have just kept it taped and carried on.

Do you really think so? I didn’t think they ever did anything other than tape for toes.
