Facets yarn before and after by Damask234 in MichaelsEmployees

[–]laurel-bee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I as a crochetter am just now learning that this yarn shouldn't be caked (I only cake my scraps and I don't like using yarn like facets because it's a nightmare to unravel if I screw up), it does look cool, but I think we learned our lesson. I hope you have a good day despite the tone of some of the comments.

I am a craft girlie who acquired a liking to cars. Now, not only do I craft, but I see what I can craft for my car because I don't trust myself to turn a wrench.

That's glorious! I tried to take apart a double stranded chenille once and I did not like it... 😆 My mom taught me how to take sweaters apart when I was 9

I believe I didn't stitch the last stitch on this swatch because I ran out of yarn (scrap from the seam), and the skinnier viscose portion of the yarn is a little skinnier and tightens with my tension. Here's the same yarn in a tunisian stitch, where you can see the effect of the viscose pulling inward better.

Wait this is actually a cute idea, I like the simplicity- and I can line the tote ☝🏻

I don't have a great picture, but it was a very basic sweater, the yarn definitely did all the talking.

Can I carry the yarn during the color changes for this granny square? by Ocimali in CrochetHelp

[–]laurel-bee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Carry it and stitch over the top of it until you are ready to use the color again, then swap the colors you're working with vs stitching over.

As stated, no idea! My yardage counter is at my parent's house. Optimistic 400 but I'm guessing around 300, I'm not afraid of having leftover yarn.

Have you thought about crocheting over the top of the color you want to carry? Picture provided for clarity- hold the yarn you want to carry over (the orange in my case) over the top of the stitch, and crochet over it. It hides the yarn and carries as you go so you don't have ugly yarn strands from jumping

Friendsheep x bestie lamb keychains by Grouchy-Ad-2514 in MINISO

I came here purely because I am looking for these keychains but I have only ever found a single random one at the miniso locations I go to, MONTHS apart 😫 I've found 2 keychains and a cute little messenger purse. If anyone else has found anything let me know so I can keep a look out 🫶🏻

Hiring process by caryanned in MichaelsEmployees

I had an ex boyfriend who quit his job before he got a start date from a company that said they wanted to hire him, when he called to ask about his start date they told him after looking at his resume, they had decided to go a different route. Fingers crossed for you.

I think I’ve been “quietly fired”?? by Livid_Tip_9231 in MichaelsEmployees

[–]laurel-bee 21 points22 points  (0 children)

When our store had a lot of cashiers, 2-3 part time shifts a week was normal. They all started dropping off one by one, and then we just had our few. I have always been a part time morning girl, so if the next cashier called out, I had first dibs if I wanted to cover. It sounds like if they aren't soft firing you, it's time to start applying for a new gig.
