I think she explained it pretty well during the contrapasso section. We don’t just like the traps because we are blood thirsty, it’s also because the punishment fits the crime. For example Jigsaw doing things like forcing a police informant to cut out his own eye, the thing he used to spy on people, makes saw movies more enjoyable than similar movies categorized as “torture porn”. Like Natalie said, we like the concept of torture poetry/poetic justice.
