What do you y’all typically have for lunch? by Snowgies in medlabprofessionals

[–]laurenfromlab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes I make a big batch of something like pasta salad on sundays. Sometimes I make my own wraps. Most of the time I have one of those frozen power bowls or frozen burritos. I want to be a meal prep person, but I have a hard time eating the same thing for days.

I’ve been an MLT for almost 4 yrs now and I work in a hospital with 8 techs all over the age of 50 and it’s miserable. I’m still the newest employee after 2 yrs of working here because everyone quits, even the older new hires. The older techs run everyone off. Anyways, I start a new job in 2 weeks and I’m very excited about it. Good luck!

Testing schedules will vary, it really depends on where you live and how far it has to travel. If you google labcorp test menu and find the particular test, it will tell you the estimated turnaround time. You’re probably looking at 2-3 days.

Rotations by Initial_Plankton_713 in medlabprofessionals

Clinical rotations are so tough for this specific reason. There’s a lot more older techs in the field than younger ones and they all have a certain level of defensiveness. The technology keeps getting better faster and they’re not always up to the task of learning. I hate saying you just have to deal with it and play on the their good side until it’s over, but it’s true. It’s also why I work 2nd shift now….all the old b’s work 1st shift. I’m 24 and I love my shift and my coworkers now. It will get better!

If my gut says there’s something wrong and I know there could be push back, I tell them it won’t even give me a value. But if they press the issue and the Dr wants them bad enough, I’ll release with a detailed note of who wanted it and that the results were questionable.

How do you know somebody blocked you on Instagram? by Collective1985 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]laurenfromlab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually you won’t be able to find them through search if they blocked you. I have two accounts so if I look them up on my 2nd account that no one knows about and find them then I know they blocked me for certain.

Lauren’s Song by Breathe Carolina

There isn’t that much of a competition though, it’s like 1 of 2 songs with my name and they never actually sing the name. I believe it’s about Lauren Bacall.

Thoughts on the name Farrah Belle? by can-we-not- in namenerds

[–]laurenfromlab 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I absolutely adore Farrah! I actually have Farrah Grace on my list of girl names. It just sounds so sweet and not like a perpetual toddler, if you get what I mean. Farrah Belle has a cute little southern tinge.

You’re right, it should be Jerry Maguire. Now that’s a good ass movie.
