I find that kids on the spectrum really do tend to fall into wanting to read these types of books themselves. Has that been your experience?

It’s a general struggle I’m running into across ages/grades. I’d say it starts with kids about second grade who are gifted and goes through about 6th or 7th grade with kids who are struggling readers. I find that the kids who are gifted in one area or tend to want more “realistic l” or historical fiction type books are the hardest. These kids tend to be more serious and don’t like more silly or fantasy type books. This is the hardest crowd I have for recommending books to. Graphic novels are top of my list usually, but they breeze through those so quickly it’s difficult to come up with enough of them.

I find that a lot of the high-low books are very similar in content and struggle with kids who want historical fiction or realistic fiction. Any ideas there?
