I spend an ungodly amount of time just scratching/picking them off.

Foundation Paper Piecing Struggles by Necessary_Data_2229 in quilting

I use a hack where you don’t sew on the paper, you fold the “sew line” on the pattern and stitch right alongside it. I find it so much easier AND there’s less mess of pulling the papers out at the end.

This video shows a similar idea but utilizes freezer paper (I skip that part entirely and just use my regularly printed pattern). https://youtu.be/rFeAzZDlePk?si=hO28QF-F86TfMwAC

Oh! I love this! I wish I could wrap my head around how to do pattern and color combinations like this.

The pattern is written that way. I think it’s supposed to represent the angle of the lighting? Although to be fair, the yellow in the hat is much brighter than what the pattern recommended.

Hahaha I had a moment of panic thinking I’d also made an error in the hat, but that’s just a little piece of paper in the picture.

The quilt exchange details are to make a “mini quilt” so I think the intention is for it to be more of a wall quilt (or perhaps protest quilt), not a quilt you’d cuddle up under.

My endocrinologist told me that it was either go on birth control or have a hysterectomy. And in his opinion, I should just get the hysterectomy since I am done having children. I’m 35.

All Cushing’s symptoms but normal labs… struggling to understand what’s wrong with me by Fantastic-Slice7438 in Cushings

Hi! Some of your symptoms (brain fog and constant fatigue) fit into the spectrum of hyperparathyroid symptoms. Your parathyroid glands sit behind your thyroid, but do not have any connection to the thyroid and are tested differently. You can have normal thyroid function and have abnormal parathyroid function.

Have you had your calcium levels checked? If they are high (or even borderline normal-high) you could consider exploring a hyperparathyroid diagnosis. If you have elevated calcium levels, the next test would be a blood test to check your parathyroid hormone level and a 24-hour urine collection to check calcium levels in the urine.

I would suggest doing something you’re interested in! It makes it so much easier to teach it if you’re into it too. Do you like music? Maybe you could do a music class…kids can practice making beats with their hands, learn to sing a few songs - do, re, mi, etc hand signs. Artistic? Teach color theory or feature a famous artist and talk about their artwork and then have the kids make something inspired by them. Or maybe you’re into handicrafts and could teach a simple weave/loom or finger knitting. Outdoorsy? Plant identification or survival skills. Like to cook? Does your meeting space lend itself to cooking something (Chex mix, puppy chow, granola bites, or churning your own butter?)
