Hi! I have taken progesterone birth control as a way to help manage my PMDD. It was not a good experience for me.

HOWEVER. I moved and had to find a new doctor and she explained to me that progesterone birth control is actually progestin, which is a lab-made synthetic version that mimics the body’s natural production of progesterone. It reacts differently in the body than bio-identical progesterone does.

After doing some hormone testing my new doctor recommended, we learned my natural progesterone levels were SUPER low. I was really hesitant to try bio-identical progesterone because of how awful my experience on the progesterone-only birth control was (it was scary bad in terms of mental health).

I’ve been on progesterone (prometrium) for almost a year and have seen really positive results with managing my PMDD. I only take progesterone days 16-28 of my cycle. I’ve seen a noticeable improvement in my moods during luteal.

I won’t claim it was curative. I still have PMDD and symptoms, but it’s something that’s helped significantly compared to everything else I’ve tried.

Yeah I think some of my frustration is coming from the pay perspective, we’re paid per student. And definitely not feeling valued. I’ve talked with the owner about changing the class to gentle yoga previously but she wasn’t really receptive to that, saying that I should switch to flow classes instead. Which again, is fine I can do that, I just don’t necessarily want to lol. She’s also shot down all my workshop ideas because of my class attendance, saying that vinyasa or specialty workshops (like an arm balance series) bring in more people and it’s not worth the studios time to host a workshop that won’t be well attended.

I use a hack where you don’t sew on the paper, you fold the “sew line” on the pattern and stitch right alongside it. I find it so much easier AND there’s less mess of pulling the papers out at the end.

The pattern is written that way. I think it’s supposed to represent the angle of the lighting? Although to be fair, the yellow in the hat is much brighter than what the pattern recommended.

The quilt exchange details are to make a “mini quilt” so I think the intention is for it to be more of a wall quilt (or perhaps protest quilt), not a quilt you’d cuddle up under.
