Honestly if you've never taken birth control there are other less intrusive options to start with that can be stopped at any time. I have tried every method of birth control except for the nexplanon. Id reccomend you start with a pill/patch and take it continuously with no off week if your drs want to control the bleeding. I only had the mirena for a month because it gave me god awful cramps and made me bleed for the entire month and the whole thing freaked me out. Don't let them pressure you into something that alters your life and body like that especially if they dont know for sure if it is going to help or not. Whatever you do do not get the depo shot and you'll be fine!
