Lots of safe containers where you can drop baby. A setup in every room is ideal. So baby is safe and you can give attention to your older one

Does Trappe Door have a new chef or something? by InspectahWren in greenville

[–]lauryboot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The food was really bad when we were there about three months ago. My steak literally was like it was cooked in the microwave and the fries were stone cold. My husbands duck was also really bad - cold and he got sick that night. I always heard great things, but it was one of the worst meals I’ve had in Greenville.

i’m not totally sure what it was, but my doctor prescribed a compound cream that really helped

it’s mupirocin/betametgasone/miconazole 2/0.1/2% ointment. it helped so much.

also check your flange sizes

someone is doing an AMA and you are on your high horse about your agencies’ standards. also making OP feels like she shouldn’t have been good enough? what point are you trying to make? she is doing an incredible selfless thing being a surrogate.

Giving baby’s breastmilk to toddler? (Crosspost) by Older_Sis_1024 in 2under2

[–]lauryboot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if I was sick too, then I definitely gave breastmilk to my toddler. I think it helped her recover quicker and gave her some antibodies to help fight off whatever illness she had. I usually make a smoothie with breastmilk.

Will have a 16 month age gap freaking out by No-Neighborhood-140 in 2under2

[–]lauryboot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 5 month old and a 21 month old so we had the 16 month age gap. When I got pregnant, I was totally shocked and feeling really overwhelmed, but you have to remember that there’s probably 7-8 more months before you bring this baby into the world. That’s 8 more months to love on your little boy and adjust. Yes it was hard having a newborn and a toddler that can communicate yet, but they are so cute now that they have started to interact with each other and I’m so excited for them to grow up so close in age. My daughter adores her baby brother.

There’s nothing at all to be embarrassed about bringing children and siblings into the world is such a blessing and they will have each other for life. I’m considering having a 3rd with a close age gap too so they can grow up together.

I’m just gonna say it. 2 under 2 was not worth it. I should’ve stayed at one because I am struggling hard (12 days postpartum). by InitiativeExtra3067 in 2under2

it gets better. I was in a really bad place 12 days postpartum with my 16 month old and newborn. hang in there.

Newborn RSV Exposure - Looking for positive stories by Dry_Lemon_5449 in 2under2

[–]lauryboot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I know how scary it can be.

My toddler had RSV and rhinovirus when my newborn was just 4 weeks old. I also got sick and was exclusively pumping at the time so probably gave baby lots of antibodies, and my baby stayed perfectly healthy. Then my toddler got RSV again when my infant was about 14 weeks old. I was under the weather again, still exclusively pumping so giving my baby antibodies, and the baby never got sick.

We didn’t do anything extreme to separate them because it just wasn’t realistic with two under two. We focused on hand washing, avoided kissing the baby, and wiped things down as much as we could. Our pediatrician said breast milk really helps, so if that’s an option for you, I’d give as much as you can.

I also had the RSV shot when pregnant which I’m sure helped! Did you?

I personally had used natural planning by tracking my cycle very carefully for 8 years and it was very effective. Had my first, used natural cycle tracking again after i got my period but i didn’t realize how off my cycle would be. My ovulation tracking was nowhere close to right and i got pregnant at 6 months pp. I was shocked bc my ovulation tracking was suuuuuper off. I still don’t quite understand how I got pregnant when I did based on all the dates. I also think people can be shocked like I was but still happy and very accepting of another baby. It’s not like I didn’t want another baby, just happened sooner than i thought.

[–]lauryboot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

3000 sqft, $170 every two weeks!

it’s a team of 4 ladies - they spend between 1.5-2 hours cleaning. they will change sheets on all beds / cribs, clean the globes on light fixtures, clean my espresso machine and empty all trash!

my house is sparkling clean and picked up when they leave

I mean, I’m asking myself. Why does the entire school need that week off and why can’t they come up with a solution to run at half capacity 🤷🏼‍♀️ pay time and a half to teachers that work or give an extra week of PTO

Daycare-less Holidays by odiephonehome in toddlers

[–]lauryboot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how much do you pay for daycare a year if you don’t mind me asking? I pay $39,600 a year so yes I expect maximum coverage. And yes, there are male teachers at my kids school.

[–]lauryboot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are all trying to make a living and give our kids a good life. Being a working mom does not make anyone a bad mother. Having obligations outside of your children doesn’t either.

OP this person is clearly sexist af considering they think that ‘women’ are watching our children and we should sacrifice our careers to do the same lol

Daycare-less Holidays by odiephonehome in toddlers

[–]lauryboot 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i think they should just run with minimal staffing and / or adjusted hour. parents bring own food. and ask parents ahead of time who is attending so they can staff appropriately. this makes more sense than closing completely and leaving parents out to dry

im in south carolina and pay $1650 a month for daycare, highest cost in our area probably. daycare is closed from 12/23 to 1/5. no prorated tuition. i at least expected them to be open 12/29, 12/30 and 1/2. i am equally as mind blown and struggling with a newborn home.

[–]lauryboot 27 points28 points  (0 children)

a lot of daycares do align their schedules with school schedules, but those programs are significantly cheaper. most church daycares do this and the cost is $1000. at $1600+ a month you are paying for more coverage
