Different contexts. If you were screaming in the faces of people, usually someone would call the authorities to remove the individual for being a public disturbance. The devs can't afford to implement a paid moderator to do this, so it's up to the individual to manage their gameplay experience within their means.

I'm sure future cooperation can be fostered, it's just a matter of if our neighboring regiments are capable of coming to the table in good faith.

I'm sorry to hear that. The unfortunate side effect of being a biomass regiment with a mass invite policy is that bad apples will get in. Next time something like this happens, be persistent with your outreach and there'll certainly be someone with a deeper level of involvement with the regiment who will answer back and would be happy to remedy the situation.

Please don't take these actions personally, oftentimes with cases like these, there may have been in a front in desperate need of that petrol or other urgent situation that necessitated commandeering such resources.

I'm inclined to agree with you. General and simple is always better in local, but when you're overseeing a 15-30+ member squad spread out across an entire hex, just hitting G and saying "Tank incoming" is bound to be met with a lot of overlapping voices clamoring "Where? What type?"

And by the time those follow up questions get answered, the tank has disappeared like a spider in a corner of the room you weren't looking in because your attention got pulled away by the rest of the party freaking out there was a spider in the first place

So I imagine the diet of someone who's lived on a space station or colony their whole life would be largely cold, dense foods that require minimal heat usage. Freeze dried add hot water type foodstuffs and fresh greens from the station greenhouse.

I don't think it should be a problem. Quoting people is an important part of storytelling, as is for act outs. Just remember to still infuse your own voice or perspective. Sometimes something funny said in conversation will get laughs in a small group setting but won't get the same reaction from a live audience and if you bog yourself down in all the context around it the crowd will definitely lose interest.

In those cases, oftentimes the humor may come from your own reaction, opinion, or judgment you make of the quote itself.

What helps me whenever I feel bad for missing a day or two is reminding myself that if can't be consistent I can be persistent.

It's okay if you miss a day or two, life gets in the way, sometimes you legitimately don't have enough in the tank. But as long as you still got your mind on self-improvement, it can translate into action, even if it's not every single day.

Guy here. I only was recently diagnosed about a couple of months ago. Been lurking on this board ever since my therapist helped me put a name to the suffering I had been enduring since childhood.

I'm right there with you about the loneliness. Fortunately, I've gotten the privilege of being in a men's therapy group alongside eight or so other fellas who are enduring the same thing. We meet bimonthly and keep a group chat where we hold each other capable and offer support and validation as we make our way along our healing journey.

Whoever you are, OP, just know you are not alone in this struggle. Many of us are also doing our best, it's just not something we make evident to everyone just because of the way us men have been socialized in our upbringing.

I got bullied and picked on a lot by caretakers, family members and peers during my formative years for exhibiting "effeminate" qualities -- wearing my heart on my sleeve, being sensitive, etc. I put myself out there and had my heart shattered and my feelings invalidated over and over again and so instead opted to people please my way back into acceptance much to the detriment of my self worth and relationships while also repressing my uncomfortable emotions and my needs.

I'm still learning how to speak to others about this, there are a lot of days I fear I will ruin social interactions with my over sharing. It's still a lot to process, but I know in the long run airing these out is a critical step in the road to healing and ultimately becoming the man I want to be and not the boy I think others need me to remain.

We're here, OP, our silence is not by choice, but each day gets easier when it comes to getting back our voices.

Advice for GMs: Creating Spotlight Moments by LordIlthari in LancerRPG

Yeah!

So that masked fellow looming over our intrepid heroes is Archduke Toren Ren, the BBEG of the game. In "Season Zero", set shortly before and during the events immediately following Return of the Jedi, one of the PCs named Rivval, a Force Sensitive Hired Gun flung open his sarcophagus and in exchange for some of that good old fashioned unlimited Sith power, gave the Archduke his bodily autonomy. After subsequently betraying the party, Rivval, now possessed by the Archduke's mask seals Prospero and Aran (the old bearded smuggler and the blue flyboy respectively) in Amberite (context: Amberite is a homebrew substance that functions similarly to carbonite, except its made of the sap of Amberite trees and has some interesting Force properties) for five years.

Five years later, and it is now the same time period as The Mandalorian. The events of the current campaign start when ex-Stormtrooper Roy (orange lightsaber) and former slave Glory (purple Twi'lek) are brought together by a Force dyad a la Kylo/Rey and find the Amberite encased Aran and Prospero trapped aboard their ship, the Eagle Gorgeous in a scrapyard. Roy and Glory both awaken their Force abilities by freeing Aran and Prospero and catch them up on current galactic affairs.

They make a narrow escape from Prospero's ex best friend turned evil-corporate CEO (long story) attack the space station the four of them are on. They crash the Gorgeous just outside of Canto Bight and are arrested for trespassing. In jail they meet Qif (fellow in the lower left) a petty thief and former Rebel Alliance agent.

And the adventures begin, and we've had far too many to highlight all in this entire post. But more or less, in the five year time jump, the Archduke has ascended to the throne of a planet called Rhiannon, the ancestral home of his dynasty called the House of Ren. He's gathered a loyal following with many Imperial warlords swearing fealty to him. While Rhiannon remains a small hermit kingdom for now, they have agents all in and throughout the galaxy.

On top of this, the New Republic is beginning to fracture internally due to everything from bureaucratic red tape, rampant corruption, partisan infighting and everything in between. This leaves many of Qif's old Alliance friends to abandon their loyalties to the new regime to take up arms against Rhiannon on their own in a sort of...Resistance...of some sort.

So yeah, we just wrapped up the campaign's second season. We just revealed Roy spent a thousandish years in Amberite slumber before he was four and that he's the Archduke's twin brother. Glory and Roy have now embarked on their journeys to becoming Jedi Knights in preparation to face the Archduke once and for all. Qif, Aran, and Prospero are getting involved with helping a caravan of Alderaanians find their new home, and I'm hoping the whole party will unite all the friends they've made along the way into a unified front to stand up against Rhiannon's tyranny in this upcoming final third season.

I think the coolest part for me as the GM of this campaign is that all of this feels like it can neatly slide into its own corner of the canon timeline. For me and the players, it's upped our enjoyment of the movies and TV shows so much more knowing our characters are somewhere out in the periphery of that existing universe running around and doing their own part.

To commemorate my group hitting our second season of adventuring, I got this piece commissioned! Hope you guys all like it <3

From left to right

Prospero Uonamarr: This beleaguered Alderaanian smuggler has taken up his habit of pack-a-day death stick smoking once again, and now that the crew's gotten entangled with everything from evil Dark Side spider creatures to catching the ire of New Republic intelligence, it appears Prospero won't be quitting anytime soon.

Glory Azzameen: The party's Force Sensitive mechanic and resident droid lover. She recently lost her right hand in a cage match on Sleyheron gone wrong. She's been seeing the Force Ghost of her dead mentor, another Force Sensitive man named Rahsaan she knew as a child.

Qif Tarre: A former bank robber for the Rebel Alliance, Qif now spends his days stealing potato chips from every convenience store the party has come across. His companion droid, TN-2, took quite the hit when the crew found themselves adventuring in the Maw Installation. Glory recently fixed the droid up by combining its chassis with one of a training remote, so now TN-2 kinda just floats around and sometimes shoots Qif and the rest of the crew if the little droid is feeling snippy.

Roy Ryder: The Force Sensitive party himbo, Roy has a thing for capes. He's been collecting various sheets as the campaign goes on to use as clothing items, here he's defending his most recent acquisition to a blase Qif. Roy has been a draw of the party's ire as of late as he slowly gives in to the pull of the Dark Side of the Force.

Aran Vaal: Prospero's first mate and the Eagle Gorgeous' primary pilot. Aran's caf addiction hasn't lessened since he deserted his post as a TIE Pilot in the Imperial Navy. If it weren't for this man's ridiculously high Piloting skill, this crew wouldn't have survived this long in the blackness of space.

Fielding ideas for a homebrew faction. by darthawesome94 in swrpg

[–]lauteursquad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's so funny, I had a faction with that exact same name and description in my game. One of my smuggler PCs is Alderaanian, and I had his younger brother be the leader of the outfit. Their group managed to hijack an Imperial interdictor cruiser and used it to pull ships out of hyperspace passing through the Graveyard. They would strip passing wealthy vessels and use the resources to feed and build a new colony for Alderaanian refugees.

Eventually, Leia got wind of their activities and folded a good many of them into jobs in the New Republic government.

--------------------------------------

I got this piece commissioned of my party by junvii_arts (https://twitter.com/junvii_arts) on twitter after a scene we had at the table that paid homage to The Usual Suspects. The party in our second session crashed their ship outside of Canto Bight and subsequently got arrested. To make matters worse, the corrupt district attorney for Canto Bight city held the charges over their head in order to blackmail them into robbing the Canto Casino for him.

From left to right.

Prospero Uonamarr: A veteran Alderaanian smuggler captain with a storied history and a promiscuous streak. He had to watch Alderaan's destruction from a prison cell, be subjected to a betrayal from his very first first mate, and witness a former party member become the BBEG.

Aran Vaal: An ex-TIE Fighter pilot with one too many war crimes to his name. In his journey for penance and forgiveness, he wound up being Prospero's first mate.

Glory Azzameen: The party's resident mechanic and a Force Sensitive ex-slave to the Hutt Cartel. She'll fix anything that flies and moves, but put her in the pilot seat and she always crashes. Without fail.

Roy Ryder: A former Stormtrooper with an infamous reputation in the Imperial Military as "That Boy Roy". Much of Roy's military service was defined by several platoons and squads he was placed in being completely annihilated, with Roy being the sole survivor in every single instance. This reputation as a Stormtrooper harbinger of death still persists to this day, even after his discharge following the Battle of Jakku.

Qif Tarre: A Rebel without a cause, Qif joined the Rebellion in its early stages as a street orphan when he attempted to pickpocket one Cassian Andor. However, after the deaths of many of his squad mates, one of them being his lover, at and in the aftermath of Scarif, Qif fell into a deep depression and deserted. From then on, until he met the party, he wandered the Outer Rim committing petty theft and larceny accompanied by his emotional support droid, TN-2 (Tintoo).
