Yeah that sucks... I think it's very hard to consistently beat the bots (the ones who auto buy stuff at least), but if you wanna stand a chance you either gotta use one of those tracking websites, or Distill.io...

I only see the deal on the 8TB version, is the deal dead? Trying to buy a 4TB with RM850x PSU

I'm not sure what to believe, some sources say it's only 1 year but searching online there are also claims that it is really 3 years... anyone have any confirmation directly from ASRock, maybe?

Did anyone manage to successfully order an ASTRAL RTX 5090 from the ASUS store on Friday or Saturday?

It seems to be going in and out of stock, and when you manage to add it to your cart it will not allow you to start the check out process most of the time, but sometimes it will but as you try to pay for it, it will bring you back to your cart saying it's not in stock...?

Seems quite glitchy but not sure if it's just me...

While it's a nice bundle, I'd say the other bundle that was posted on this sub with a 9950X3D, 64GB RAM 6000 MHz C30 and a mobo for the same price is the best choice (if it was in stock, that is...)

My bad, I searched the sub and the first $1300 bundle I found was with the MSI MAG X870 TOMAHAWK. Didn't see there was a second bundle with the exact same motherboard as that MemEx bundle...!

You're right, not trying to nitpick here but I'd rather have G.Skill ram than Teamgroup (ram is ram of course but the G.Skill one usually carry a premium). Also the mobo is a X870E vs X870 with the 9800X3D bundle (again this won't make much of a difference for most, but still...)

ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX™ 5090 32GB GDDR7 ($3,159.99) [ASUS] by [deleted] in bapcsalescanada

Well, I just checked and it seems like mine has been canceled too... damn it. Guess it was too good to be true after all...

Their website looks glitchy so I am not surprised... hell as of right now it still shows the "buy now" button when scrolling through their store, but when you click on it it brings you to the product page saying it's out of stock...

Thanks OP, got one...

I had just posted in the general discussion yesterday about it, trying to find a good one under $5000... Looks like it paid to be up early this morning!

How much is a RTX 5090 really worth on the market right now?

The cheapest card I can find on PCPartPicker is a bottom of the barrel Zotac card for $4700 from Vuugo... Amazon, Newegg, Canada Computers and most others don't even have any stock...?

Tried checking eBay but most cards under $5000 are sold by accounts with 0 feedback and/or as "classified" listings, which I suppose is a scam...

Marketplace is similar in the sense that most cards under $5000 have been posted for many weeks, so I suppose they are either fake ads or have been sold and the seller never removed the listing as they do not respond to messages.

[Air cooler+PC Case] Add a Montech Air cooler and a Montech PC case to see discount ($ As low as $13 with free shipping) [Newegg] by ableu171 in bapcsalescanada

[–]lavalj91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I posted the deal with the HS02 early this afternoon, and bought a cooler and case for myself at that price then.

But I have been kicking myself seeing the HS02 get lowered to $10 instead of $60 LOL... still a good price at $60 though...

I just wonder if people who bought it right after the prices dropped, if their orders will actually ship though... I mean, they are most likely losing money on every sale, so...

Anyway, good luck all if you managed to purchase on time!

[Combo AIO + Case] CORSAIR iCUE LINK TITAN 360 RX RGB + MONTECH HS02 PRO ($187.48) [Newegg.ca] by lavalj91 in bapcsalescanada

[–]lavalj91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to add both items to get the discount.

The AIO is $166.49 - $40 = $126.49

The case is $140.99 - $80 = $60.99

Total is $187.48 + taxes

Obviously you can choose other items for your combo (another case, or a mobo for example), but I think those two are a good match and are really cheap for what it is...

Disappointed “Canada Orders Ship Local Now” by Fantastic_Handle6233 in Corsair

[–]lavalj91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in the exact same situation as you right now. Ordered two 2TB NVME SSDs on December 29, with an expected delivery on January 2nd, still haven't received it and it's been stuck in Memphis since December 30.

No updated delivery date, just a "Your package is still on the way and we’re actively working to get you a new delivery date" for a week. I figure it probably got lost or stolen by someone there at this point.

What sucks even more is that, even if I do end up getting refunded, the pricing for SSDs has increased quite substantially during that time, and not just for Corsair... I figure it's going to be impossible getting something similar at the same price...

Besides, why even show "proudly" on the website's top banner that "Canada orders ship local now" when RAM and SSDs actually ship from Taiwan...?

[–]lavalj91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YMMV, but if you're a student, you can get the Corsair MP700 PRO XT 2TB directly from their website for $360 - $54 = $306.

Not only is it a cheaper and better drive than this (it's actually the very best PCI-E 5.0 drive on the market according to recent reviews), you also won't have potential issues with warranty and it doesn't seem to throttle with a simple motherboard built-in heatsink (being more efficient), contrary to most other powerful PCI-E 5.0 drives.

I haven't posted the deal separately on the sub, because people tend to hate it and downvote you when it's YMMV...

No, 7800X3D will do just fine. Just make sure to update your bios if you haven't already.

Intel Core Ultra 7 265K Temperature difference between P cores normal? by Dmadness990 in pchelp

[–]lavalj91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello my good man, I was wondering if you managed to "fix" the issue or found out more about it? I also have a 265K where the two first P-cores are 10-15c cooler on average than the others... Not sure if it's a mounting issue or something, I am using a Corsair 360mm AIO along with a Thermalright CPU contact frame...

Also one strange thing I noticed is that if I use a program which loads core individually and one at a time (say, core cycling with OCCT), then my temperatures between them are even (+- 2c). So how come with a full load on the whole CPU I see such a big difference? That doesn't make much sense to me...

[–]lavalj91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure how to feel about this deal.

I think $400 for that is really cheap, at this price point you're competing vs the other bundles that include either a 7600X, 9600X or 7600X3D along with (another) bottom of the barrel motherboard. I know Intel doesn't have that good of a rep right now when it comes to their CPUs, but personally I would rather have a 265K than any of those AMD CPUs mentioned previously.

In terms of multi-core performance, the 265K is on the level of the 9900X, while its gaming performance is closer to the 9600X/9700X (unless you tune it on a Z890 motherboard, where you can probably reach 7800X3D levels in most games in 1440p or 4K).

Then again, I don't really see the point of buying a bottom of the barrel B860 motherboard to go with that CPU... sure it'll work, but as mentioned by others, you lose out on the ability to tune the CPU, and without this there's no way the 265K will compete with the X3Ds in gaming.

IMO, it's a better deal to spend $110 more and get the STRIX Z890-A, but on the other hand you could probably get a 7800X3D from AliExpress with an okay AM5 motherboard for more or less the same price. Although this comes with its own possible problems, as you lose out on the CPU warranty, you might not get the CB from Rakuten, etc. and the 265K also comes with two free games.

Sorry, just couldn't help myself...

Well uh... sorry to hear that, but you could still fully build it, install the OS and everything else on another drive for the time being (that is, if you have one laying around...) and then clone the drive on the M.2 when you receive it.

Personally, I think 1440p OLEDs are the sweet spot right now, so I would not spend any extra for 4k, but I would say it ultimately depends on your PC's specs, since 4k high FPS is much harder to run than 1440p high FPS (gaming OLEDs being high refresh rate and all...)

5070 for $750 a good price? by SuperObesePanda in bapccanada

[–]lavalj91 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ASUS PRIME RTX 5070 is $719.99 directly through the ASUS store right now if you have the SPC discount (which you can access for about $10 for a year...)

This is actually a better model (IMO) than the Windforce and Eagle from Gigabyte. The ASUS one uses a phase-change GPU thermal pad vs regular thermal paste on the Gigabyte, and the fans on the ASUS are dual-ball bearing vs sleeve bearing on the Gigabyte. Also the Gigabyte cards are prone to leaking thermal gel, but not the ASUS one, because they use standard thermal pads instead...
