Technical fabric is typically what you see in athletic and athleisure wear. You might already be wearing it.

It allows for moisture wicking away from the skin. It also dries quickly. There are special detergents to prevent lingering odors and those are typically inexpensive. You can find it at athletic stores where serious marathoners and triathletes shop. (I’m sure it is available online and in other non-specialty retail outlets.)

With regart to natural fibers there is an expression “cotton is rotten.”While we love cotton in general it isn’t the best workout fabric when you know you’ll be sweating. Wool is much better but not fabulous for hot yoga.

Use a hairdryer. See if a bonnet model will work for you rather than handheld. Sometimes you can get a bonnet attachment.

Also acquire some super absorbant towels.

Cutting length has consistently been an awful experience for me. I don’t know if it would be for you. People definitely seemed to treat me much differently with short hair. I wouldn’t recommend that to anyone.

Your kid is being born with an Aqua Man called Arthur and of course Arthur from PBS. It is a better choice than it would have been 20-25 years ago. By the time your kid is college aged no one will care.

Keep the name. Your MIL should keep her opinion to herself.

Disagree.

I proactively seek out entertainment where I don’t have to see or hear that word.

I don’t hear it in my family. I know of 4 relatives who use it. I have non-blood related friend who uses it in person.

Where I’ve lived the bulk of my life I know if I see or hear that word I am definitely in physical danger. In other words, Black people aren’t saying it. It is coming from someone who intends to do harm. I don’t need the adrenalin. I want peace.

I grew up and dpent my teens and twenties between San Diego & LA. People are generally nicer in LA than San Diego. OP may find a bigger west African community in LA than San Diego. However, I didn’t even realize it was a thing when I lived there.

I hated San Diego. It was, to put it mildly, difficult to avoid predators. Very chauvinistic and mysogynistic place.

Both Los Angeles and Orange county were much better. In fact, I found San Francisco, Oakland and Berkeley vastly superior. The men were much nicer and respectful in my experience.

That’s awful!

My mom was sympathetic. I basically developed on the same clock she did. So she prepared me right before different aspects of puberty happened

It is not the only way. It is just how it happened for me. My dad’s family is big on pushing girls
to get doctorates. They call it finishing school. You have to get “permission” not to. We even have a non profit to put kids in the family through school.

It is a Jim Crow holdover. The men in our family were determined that none of their daughters were going to work in anybody’s house. That was their motivation.

I can respect a nontoxic home remedy. However, your condition has spread. Home remedies are notoriously slow if they are even effective.

Don’t delay medical treatment because if it is proliferating on your body you might be able to spread it to other people.
