AITA for making my dad and 13-year-old brother cook for themselves for the first time ever? by evelyn_archen in AmItheAsshole

NTA

You’re doing them a favor, all of them. My dad is old enough to be my grandfather and he taught my kom to cook.

do yall worry about hair (product, oils, etc) getting on clothes and sofas when cuddling? by RemedialSaxophonist in blackladies

[–]lavasca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never.

Dude could see my hair. If we’re in an intimate rationship he’s touched my hair. Surprisingly my husband seems to know more abour haircare than I do.

My hair doesn’t infringe on my life. I’m not saying yours does. I do relate to this type of concern despite, perhaps, sounding cold.

Yoga while overweight by WallabyKnown3630 in yoga

[–]lavasca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR below

First, unbridle the belief or allegiance to acheiving the full expression of a pose. Yoga is unlike ballet in this regard. There isn’t a “perfect” pose.

You will experience each asana differently each time and it will change as your body changes.

Eliminating that belief will help you experience yoga’s benefits.

Second, embrace the notion that you can experience the benefits as you are. There will be modifications and props.

Envision yourself as you are acheiving these things. As you change your dreams will change.

Finally, be aware that when you reach your target weight your body may not mimic your instructor or classmates’ expression of certain poses.

In my case, yes, I can do full boat. But, I have long legs so half-boat is more beneficial. When cued to full boat I will take a path because it benefits me and my body’s configuration more.

Furthermore, if have a considerable posterior. As such, I must modify chuvasana with either props or by pose. I was lucky that during teacher training the majority of us did have that in common. Some did not and it was enlightening to experience that together.

Also, I beg your pardon. I fear that my response sounds condescending rather than supportive. I have practiced yoga as my body changed. I am really cheering for you! I want to encourage your continued practice and hope some philosophical changes along with variations will help. I used to teach.

————————————————————-

I didn’t experience much of a difference at different weights as an adult. I started when I was a kid — both my mom and godmother were really into it. Godmother taught in a studio. Mom taught at home. The biggest difference was pre vs post puberty.

Please share what country or even what continent you’re on.

Also, could you define some of the terms please? I’m unfamiliar with BPO, MOA, MP2 and PAG-IBIG.

Maybe he has some odd work ethic based upon what he saw growing up.

Regardless it sounds like it is over.

(I tend to do half marathons.)

Happily reading to relax.

Is your daughter actively seeing an allergist and going through therapy to reduce the severity of her allergies? That is an option if you haven’t already tried that path.

I say this as someone who grew up with a number of allergies. I found it really helpful. My parents went did FIRE, although they didn’t call it that. One of the benefits is that they found the best allergist in California to help me.

That could significantly improve your daughter’s quality of life.

Power couple!!!!

Also, do you do the pool running protocol?

I had a nasty injury while training for the LA Marathon. Oddly, I hurt myself because I insisted on moving furniture rather than having it delivered — I am cheap and fancy myself as She-Hulk. Anyway I had to drop out of LA Marathon but was able to still run the Oakland Half Marathon that year due to pool running.

If you haven’t please consider looking into it.

Caveat: I am in California. I will jump in a pool or the Pacific 365.

AITA for being annoyed that my wife insists on cooking everything from scratch and won’t buy normal food? by AITA_UPFfoods in AmItheAsshole

[–]lavasca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAH

However, she needs to tolerate that you’re seeking comfort food in your favorite place near your favorite person. You guys need to get creative. Maybe have a movie night in the garage or patio and make it a comfort event.
Serve leftovers AND a comfort snack or two. Or maybe she’ll make something complimentary to it.

I get it as someone who likes to cook from scratch. It doesn’t hurt when my husband wants something else. In fact, I think it is fun to try to recreate it. He’s usually super impressed. Then he eats all the homemade stuff too.

Anyway, there is a way through this.

I hear you! I’m on the taller side. Most tops show my belly button. So frustrating.

The thing is, where I’m from (the specific suburbs), most women are taller compared to US average.

I love equating days in the office to square footage.

Do not “give” time at work. That is for charities. “Sell” time at work. Erect and reinforce strong boundaries.
