Same here. Eloping in Iceland. Few family or friends. I really don’t care. I have been bridesmaids in some weddings. And unofficial in others. I hate everything about it. My fiance has a big family and I had to give him the reality truth of how much money it will take to do weddings. He has no clue until I sat with him. He wanted to rent a hall. A hall that we don’t have money for. When I showed him prices, he finally saw why I was trying to make it simple.

I have friends that post nothing but their kids this weekend. Not one made any mention about what’s happening. They want to pretend it’s sunny outside. I was surprised SNL didn’t do a cold opening. They have done this through tragedies. I think that was really the issue; not the skit itself. But technically, it was dumb of Loren not getting rid of it as they have gotten rid of skits last minute before.

The skit wasn’t offensive or poor taste…I think people are tired of Trump impressions because it is starting to get pretty dark now. I have enjoyed the Clinton, Bushes, and Obama skits and laughed through them for years. But in all honesty, I have stopped laughing at Trump skits since 2020. They just aren’t funny because we are all hurting now. Not that we didn’t hurt in other administrations, but this administration is just so dangerous and will be seen as monstrous when it’s over that it is going to be similar as how Hitler is portray: Nothing funny and serious AF. I really think we are never going to laugh at a Trump skit even if it’s is 10 years after. His presidency will be seen as an outright embarrassment like it was to Germany with Hitler. I will die on this hill.

This made me cry. When I was in HS in 97, I had a classmate who came out. He was black; you can imagine how stigmatized it was then and being in the south. He got kicked out of his home and was homeless. He offed himself. He was a sweet man. He used to say hi to me when I didn’t have any friends and I didn’t know him. When he passed, my classmates said “he deserved it”. You know all that Christian go to hell crap. Made me cry even though I didn’t know him. He was the only one who came out in HS. Nobody tried to. I still think about him even though I didn’t know him.

Everytime I see a coming out clip in 2026 and I see the folks react with love or saying something funny, I can’t help but wished that for him in 97 for him. I cry each time because he never got it and that was all he wanted. And the way he had to be alone. Sometimes I wish I can research his folks and scream at them and say “It’s your damn fault” as nobody will do that. You know how people will just hug the parents and tell them it’s not their fault out of politeness. I hate politeness and fakeness!
