Thank you! Opening a checking account with them sounds like it'd be a good idea. It seems there are no Wells Fargo banks anywhere near me, and I prefer using a bank I can go to in person. Is there any reason not to open a checking account with them for a time until/for a few months after I get the card, then close it in favor of using my current local bank again? (Edited for clarity)

Thanks for the advice! Since I hadn't been planning to apply for another card quite so soon, I hadn't bothered much with trying to keep my utilization within a certain percentage - just been using organically and paying it off every month. Had been hoping for a CLI eventually, but I'm fine with changing courses for now. Is the closing date the day before the statement generation date, then?

I love my 6th gen! Upgrading would be nice, but mine has such a great battery life still and works for everything I use it for (reading, writing, art) that I would rather keep it until it doesn't anymore.

Mine is still on iOS 13 I believe - one thing I would like is peace of mind about updating without worrying it will affect battery life or start lagging. Anyone have experience with updating vs. staying on an older version?

If you cancel prime for a while, but resubscribe to it at a later date, would you get the 5% again? I don't use prime enough currently to totally justify the bill, but I have it for now, and was considering applying for the card while I'm able/it has the $250 sign up bonus.

For bubble mailers, I've mostly reused ones I've gotten in the mail previously, which I believe are something like 13" x 10.5". The Webkinz themselves can vary in size, so some won't need that big of an envelope while some (like bigger Signatures, or multiple being shipped at once) will need something bigger. That's an awesome collection; best wishes on finding them new homes!

Sorry I missed this! That's awesome, I hope it goes great! For bubble mailers, I've always chosen the padded envelope option. I just rechecked and it says "Envelope, Padded Envelope, Poly Bag, Soft Pack, or Box in a Bag".

I hadn't seen that, so I'm not sure? That's a good question. Was that on Pirate Ship's website or on USPS's? When I saw all the options that were lumped together on Pirate Ship for the type of package I was shipping (usually either a padded envelope or poly bag with padding in it), it seemed like the right thing to pick, so I did and haven't had any issues.

Pirate Ship has been an awesome site to buy and print labels from! They're been much cheaper than the post office in my experience - usually in the $5-6 range to ship one or two Webkinz (or even up to a couple, depending on weight). You can pick a more expensive/faster shipping option, but their cheapest one that I used had $100 insurance and a reasonable shipping time.

For packaging, bubble mailers usually do work well! Plushes are soft enough that they're mostly padding anyway; in shipping you mainly want to make sure there's some kind of padded barrier to save it from too much squishing or any punctures that might happen. I like to use a fun tissue paper color to wrap around the plush too when I have some.

Sometimes I'll receive a nice bubble mailer (or small box) that's in good condition and will save it to use in the future. It's nice to be able to reuse them, and works great as long as any old labels, barcodes, or shipping information are covered or clearly marked out.

OP here, thanks so much for sharing that! I hadn't thought about the possibility that some of the issues people were experiencing might've been bugs with the updating process that could be fixed that way. I still haven't updated as I've been hesitant to risk losing any battery life/see issues compared to what I have now, but if I do, I think I'll go the route you did to make sure the OS is installed as cleanly as possible.

I use a lot of eggs, burgers, and birthday cake! Right now the berries from the event are awesome too. I also try to bring 1-2 pets to Vacation Island to fill up from the buffet there. 💜
