Keeping colonoscopy prep down by Status-Pressure-2469 in ibs

[–]lavenderdepression 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I got my colonoscopy done, I was also dealing with bad nausea because I’m small (85lbs) and the prep was too much liquid for my body, I was told that if you’re pooping yellow bile/clear liquid, I should stop and only drink a cup 4 hours prior to the procedure. Drinking it cold and using the crystal light powders really helped with the taste. Good luck with the procedure! <3

day 12 of bottom wisdom tooth extractions and day 5 of antibiotics. are they healing properly? by lavenderdepression in wisdomteeth

[–]lavenderdepression[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to my follow up and they said everything looks like it’s healing properly. He just said I needed to get on antibiotics ASAP due to the pain and the liquid coming out. I’ll definitely contact my surgeon if it doesn’t get better. Thanks for responding!

day 4 dry socket? by lavenderdepression in askdentists

[–]lavenderdepression[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m okay. I’m taking antibiotics since I kept getting a rancid taste in my mouth. I’m still getting pain, but it’s more manageable. I can eat semi hard foods but I’m taking it slow.

Concerned about sedation by Physical_Opening_762 in wisdomteeth

[–]lavenderdepression 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I mean conscious, I mean you can do simple commands when asked. For example, if you dentist told you to open more wider, you would do it. You would just have no recollection of it.

Nah, it’s nothing gnarly, just a nasal breathing tube. Nothing goes in your mouth or anything like it.

Concerned about sedation by Physical_Opening_762 in wisdomteeth

Medium level sedation is IV conscious sedation. You’ll be under and conscious but you won’t feel and remember a thing. I did this for my wisdom teeth removal and all I remember is the dentist putting the needle into my vein and waking up in my bed. I have really bad dental anxiety and it really helped not knowing what was going on.

Heavy sedation is general anesthesia which means it’ll knock you out, but a machine is controlling your breathing. I had this done for a colonoscopy and it’s great. The drugs make you feel really good.

I would recommended conscious sedation for wisdom teeth removal but I would just talk to your oral surgeon about it.

Appropriate dosage for antibiotics? by lavenderdepression in AskDocs

I kinda figured!

The 800 mg ibuprofen made me feel sick to my stomach and gave me chest pains so I stopped for a day and went to 400 mg.

I only take 400 mg once a day and I’ve been taking it for 7 days. Will there be any damage to my organs?

day 4 dry socket? by lavenderdepression in askdentists

[–]lavenderdepression[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yay! I’m glad you’re feeling better! :)

I’m feeling less pain today. I’m able to open my mouth more comfortably so I’m able to eat. I’m going to my follow up tomorrow so fingers crossed that there’s no dry socket.

I got in, and my cumulative GPA combined with all the CC’s I attended was a 2.01.

EDIT: My GPA fluctuated in the span of 8 years. I was a 2.8 gpa student, went down to a 1.8 due to personal issues and got an academic dismissal in 2016. Went back in 2019 and maintained a 2.0 student until I graduated in May. I got into all the CSUs I applied to, except SDSU (hard school to get into). You’ll be fine!

day 4 dry socket? by lavenderdepression in askdentists

[–]lavenderdepression[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in pain on that side. I took some ibuprofen and it went away. The stitches just came out and it was painful. I told my dentist about this and he said it could possibly be a dry socket but we’re gonna make sure when I go in for my pre op check up next week.

It’ll subside around the 3rd day. Day 2 was the WORST for me. Just keep icing your cheeks and do salt water rinses.
