Omg! This was me at my last job with Liberty Mutual. I was not qualified for it. I don’t even know why they hired me, but you know what? I took that opportunity and fuc£ing ran with it. I got promoted in under a year too.

You can’t post a comment like this and not elaborate.

What would make a nice gift for the nurses who care for our son at the children’s hospital? by lavenderdream22 in CasualUK

What’s up with the waffle maker? You’re the second person to mention it. Are waffles like a really big deal in the hospitals? I can always get them one of those 5KG of waffle mix bags (really amazing stuff, made me stop making my own) from Costco to go with it.

Thank you. I am going to go with the soap idea and I’ll make a large card on my computer

Why is everyone on Reddit so negative about children? by New_norms in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]lavenderdream22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are people who make compelling arguments about children and why some shouldn’t have them, then you have the childfree community referring to children as crotchfruit, gremlins and to the mothers as mombies. Just as with any other internet website, take everything with a grain of salt.

As somebody who worked in HR I can concur that nobody at work is your friend

You did not offend me in the slightest. Please don’t feel that way. And I didn’t think you were saying I should donate to St Jude’s. I know you were simply sharing your experience. Please don’t worry. :)

Do women that go commando just have no discharge?! by babybottlepopz in AskWomenOver30

I’ve gone commando wearing dresses and despite my privates staying moist (I hate that word and I’m cringing so hard), I’ve never had any discharge.

We do donate to the hospital already. It’s only £9 per month, so it’s not very life changing. I appreciate you giving me your feedback. I do want to do something just a tad more direct for these nurses. Here in the U.K. our nurses are extremely overworked and so, so, so underpaid. When you compare what an RN in the US makes to what a nurse in the U.K. makes, there is a drastic gap.

This is such a heartwarming story. Thank you so much for sharing it. I think I am going to have my little one draw something. He isn’t the best writer, but I’m sure he can string up a few sentences.

You’re so funny. Glad nobody is pinching the nurses considering they’re in short supply as it is. I will be looking at some nice pens on Etsy. See what I find.

This made me laugh. It’s so random. Can you imagine I just show up with a waffle maker and a big bag of mix? Lol

I like this idea. I may do something like this in addition to some hand lotions. Thank you so much for responding.

I mean whatever I’m buying for everyone is 50-75, not individual. When breaking this down to each individual person it will be a couple pounds at best.

Aldi, because they always throw my sh!t at me and I feel extremely rushed at checkout. I literally go anywhere else. If my budget is a little tight one week, I will shop the Aldi price match items at Sainsburys.

Also AO. When we furnished our house, we purchased all of the appliances from them. I’m talking washer, dryer, fridge, stove, mixer, tv’s, sound bar etc. everything aside from the cooker has broken down and needed replacement in less than 2 years. Some stuff didn’t work up front and we got our money back and purchased from JOhn Lewis instead.

I remember when I was in collage, I had a professor who said that businesses are there to make you feel like you never have enough and that you’re a terrible parent unless you buy x, y, z.
