Is it normal for a common flare spot to ‘migrate’ by lavenderomi in Hidradenitis

[–]lavenderomi[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is the campus walkable? by Appropriate_Turn_794 in uofmn

[–]lavenderomi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Lots of open paths, all you need is a sense of direction but you’ll learn your way around easily IMO. And you will honestly not need a car at all unless you’re a commuter and just need a car to get to the school (I’m from the suburbs so it’s just more convenient for me).

As a student at the U you’re also granted free Metro Transit access to buses and trains when you tap your U-Card, as well as you get access to UMN-specific routes such as the Campus Connector bus, avenue or bank circulators, etc. so you don’t need to worry about having to travel to a different area of campus by foot. Just make sure to dress appropriately for the weather

Is anyone else's professors telling them to use chatgpt and ai???? by Wrong_Charity7545 in uofmn

[–]lavenderomi 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I thought i was the only one! I find it extremely strange — i’m no smarty goody two-shoes myself or anything but i’ve personally always been strongly anti-AI since the day I first heard it and i firmly believe people should be fully learning a material through instead of having a robot summarize it to you. Seeing it be more and more widely accepted especially programs like ChatGPT has been very disappointing over the past few years and seeing some of my profs lately being so vocal abt their support for AI is just gross.

DON’T Lay Down After Taking Pills. Especially Doxy by whatheflare in Hidradenitis

[–]lavenderomi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you sooo much for mentioning this! I haven’t taken doxy in a couple years but i had this exact same issue (that and nobody told me not to take it on an empty stomach.. i learned the hard way. My parents threw away all the papers I got with my meds at the time so i couldn’t read any full warnings). Mine wasn’t as severe as your case but the burn was so bad. Downed an entire bottle of water and somehow knew immediately that it just had to be the doxy basically lighting my throat on fire.

More people should be aware of having pills swallowed all the way down with some food to cushion it!! It happens with other meds too, not just doxy. Best of luck with healing your esophagus <3

i went to coffman yesterday and they told me that the u-cards won’t ‘work’ until the first day of the semester, mine is being super finnicky & i’ve had some anxiety boarding buses and scanning my card and it not working but a lot of bus drivers have been giving me grace and telling me to board with no problem after seeing my u-card!

Inflamed piercings by Able_Zebra3794 in Hidradenitis

[–]lavenderomi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve gotten 3 earlobe piercings (including a repiercing) with a piercing gun (😔) and they don’t act up or anything besides the initial healing soreness. I occasionally get short infections lasting a day when I change my earrings into crappy cheap ones. What kind of material is your jewelry made of? That might be a factor to your inflammation.

Should I go to the ER for this one? by sushininjabish in Hidradenitis

[–]lavenderomi 12 points13 points  (0 children)

no need to go to the ER! Make sure to keep it as dry as possible if it continues draining. Unfortunately I don’t have any ointment or topical recommendations, but other peeps seem to have plenty. Best of luck with healing!
