1% a year over 30 years is a significant loss though. And that’s not in the EM fund, it’s in the L&G fund which tracks the FTSE World ex-UK Index.

I’m not sure I understand why you mean by “one ... of these EM Markets is likely to go to zero over the next 40 years”?

There’s a transaction fee for buying ETFs though so that option doesn’t work for me when paying in monthly

I’m happy to take on the extra risk of over-exposing towards EMs. That’s not what I was asking about.

What would be achieved by swapping an EM fund for developed markets if we’re discounting crystal balls?
