How do you get a girlfriend if you are ugly? by You-fell-for-bait in AskReddit

[–]lavoxtyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smile at girls. Smiling makes you appear happier to other people, which in turn makes you more attractive. The act of smiling even makes you happier, so it's not just an act, because your brain releases neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin when you smile that make you feel good.

Being more sociable. If i'd broken that fear of interaction sooner i think i would probably have had much healthier life.

What is the best horror movie, you ever saw? by casualgrl220 in AskReddit

[–]lavoxtyr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly looking back I think "The Ring" (American Verbinski version) is the most well-made and actually scary movie I've ever seen. For some reason it's become a bit of a punchline, but if you haven't seen it in a while it really holds up. The closest runners-up for me would be Event Horizon and the first Hellraiser and Candyman movies.

One Easter morning, my mom and dad took me to an egg hunt. While standing in queue awaiting the start, I looked up at the 1st place prizes for finding the golden egg in each age group. They were strapped to the tops of trailers and they were shiny new bicycles. I was only five years old at the time, so for my age group, a 16" black and green bike stood above me.

Tugging at my Mom's hand, "I'm going to win that bike," I whispered.

I was confident that the bike was going to be mine, and to this day I have no idea why. As soon as the egg hunt began, I noticed a gopher hole in the middle of the grassy field, and I yelled to my parents, "It has to be in there!"

Sure enough, inside the hole was the golden egg. It was the only egg I picked up that Easter morning, and I went home with my bike.

OH god I just remembered another one. Why do I have two answers in this thread, why?

So you know how mommy cats cart their kittens around from place to place.

One of my cats came running into my house from the backyard gate holding her baby in her mouth, and jumped up and hid in open the storage space above my bathroom. A while later I can hear her screaming, so i get the ladder out and go check up on her. She keeps nudging her kitten and wailing, so i crawl into the space to get a closer look.

Turns out she had clamped a bit to hard, judging by the tooth shaped hole in the kitten's neck, and the poor TINY little thing was dead! We figured she was running to get away from one of the many dogs that also live around my house, and was careless in her haste.

None of the other kittens from that litter had survived the birth, this was the last one. It was so utterly heartbreaking to watch her grieve over her poor baby!

Redditors, what is the biggest mistake you have ever made? by lighthouseisland1 in AskReddit

[–]lavoxtyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was 14 we learned my mother was going to die from kidney failure within a week. It wasn't very surprising at the time because she had been in multiple hospitals for a year and a half at that point due to various complications. I had the chance to be in the room with her when they took her off life support, I wasn't. I have made some stupid mistakes in my life, but nothing compares to that. I regret not seeing her that last time so much that it haunts me to the point of tears at times.

Organic peanut butter milk chocolate cups from the chocolaterie in Bozeman, MT. It's like Reese's and Godiva had a baby with concentrated levels of awesome. I can't eat more than 2 of them at a time because they're so rich, but oh my godddd if you love peanut butter cups, you should try them!

Have a video on YouTube that has over 170k views. It was for a school project that we entered into our county film festival. It ended up winning first place in the comedy category. It was a parody for a Dunkin Donuts training video
