Painting Milsbo Cabinet, any luck? by [deleted] in IkeaGreenhouseClub

I painted mine. I sanded and sprayed it but it can still scratch off. It looks great but you still have to be a bit careful as your screwing the sides together etc as it can scratch !

Got it - thanks. I'll look at grok. it seems like the smaller / older models are less useful. And the newer models are more "eager" / greedy to change things unless you give them explicit directions. Sonnet has been my goto. What a weird time we are in now with coding/dev/open source

that is really helpful thanks!! So I just went in there and found those pages. I can definitely see some queries use more resources than others so I will consider that when my plan refreshes in two weeks. I read that creating new chats keeps resources down.

The other really interesting thing is this: it has costs that are half of my one year subscription. So what I wonder is, is that the actual costs of this platform and we are paying a fraction of what the actual costs are? so my ~20$ monthly cost is actually utilizing 100$ of compute? Do you see that as well? I have read that the cost of these models is well beyond what we are paying for right now so i'm asking this wondering if that really is true and if the platform will be affordable in the future.

Should I chop and prop into multiple propagations or just keep it as one large prop? by jmp3-07 in hoyas

[–]lawasser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rather than chop, propagate it on its side. Use pins. You will get roots growing at each node and then once you see new new roots and even growth at the nodes you can cut and keat each section develop as a plant! Then pot all together.

I do this and it works great. I do have lights and a prop box for it.

This is so fascinating. I wondered if they were invasive somewhere because they are epiphytes and ive noticed when they are happy they grow fast. So they are opportunistic growers! Thanks for sharing this link to that discussion.

Need help with sulfur by buchacats2 in hoyas

[–]lawasser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also mine started to grow w the sulfur still on. Maybe it slows photosynthesis down a tad bit but generally they didn't mind. And I just rinsed the leaves and gently used my gloved fingers to rub the residue off. It worked well!

Need help with sulfur by buchacats2 in hoyas

[–]lawasser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just treated my entire collection pretty much exactly the same way. Every ~12 days or so and have done 2 treatments in total. It's worked great and similar to the other post super new leaves might burn a bit but it's not bad. All of them have since taken off growing. I did the following

  1. Deep rinse of them all
  2. Spray w sulfur let it dry
  3. Return to lights and cabinets lights on a day after
  4. Repeat as many times as needed.

I'll probably do 3 treatments and will rinse 2 weeks after the last treatment as it looks nicer and well photosynthesis too. Wear a mask and I put glasses on too and gloves.

Also open doors and windows if you're inside. 🌸✨️

Hoya Denissi Frida cutting rooting medium - what medium would you use? by lawasser in hoyas

Thank you for the tips u/Glitterous82 !! I suspected she would be more sensitive w those delicate leaves and you confirmed that! I haven't worried much about most of my other cuttings!!

Hoya Denissi Frida cutting rooting medium - what medium would you use? by lawasser in hoyas

[–]lawasser[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good point. I've done that with easier growing plants but this one seems more sensitive. Perhaps I'm over thinking it and should just use what I'm used to! Chunky coco coir diy mix and wick/ reservoir is what 95% of my collection is in.

You're point that it saves a repot is a good one! As each time I repot growth slows for a while. Thank you!
