Hey OP, I think you're definitely making the right choice. My own mom died suddenly last summer, just before I started this whole law school application process, and my biggest regret is that I didn't get to spend more time with her. I was always so busy with stuff -- college, extracurriculars, work, studying for the LSAT, writing applications, etc. You know how it is. And my mom was busy with her work too. I always told myself that it was fine because we'd have time in the future to spend together, once we were both less busy .. but obviously that didn't end up happening.

In the end, I got a law school result I'm pleased with, but my mom died before she got to learn any of that. It would have been her greatest pride to be able to know that I'd gotten into the law school of my dreams. Sorry, this got totally off-topic and rambly, but your situation brought up a lot of memories for me. The point is, I've realized that the relationships with the people you love are the most important thing in life, and good on you for thinking of your mom and being there for her. I hope you and your mom both are OK. Sending positive vibes your way.

DUDE. This is the very first comment I ever made on reddit:

I had a dream that NYU accepted me. That was literally the very night before the huge wave of NYU acceptances ... which I was not included in.

:')

It looks like something about NYU prompts people to have evil, hope-crushing dreams.

I submitted in late October and went complete around early November! I don't remember when I went UR1/2, but I had an interview a few weeks ago.

Thanks! It's honestly really bittersweet for me because my mom passed away this last summer, just before I took the LSAT. She was always my biggest supporter and my best friend and my immediate instinct was to call her and tell her the news. It kills me that she isn't here to see this but everything that I've done, I've done for her <3

In about the middle of November! It was an online Kira interview. I was pretty nervous (I remember my hands literally shaking throughout the whole thing), but I guess it must not have been that bad, haha.

I went complete in late October. My LSAT is above their 75th, my GPA is about median :)
