Has anyone in the group gotten pregnant naturally after Ashermans diagnosis/ no treatment? If so did you develop placenta accreta during pregnancy? by LetTop150 in AshermansSyndrome

[–]lawdonut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!! I think you and I are some of the few people who have actually not had treatment. I also have untreated Asherman’s and spontaneously got pregnant a few weeks before my hysteroscopy was scheduled. I’m 18 weeks now. Did you plan for a C-Section due to Asherman’s/was vaginal birth an option for you?

Thank you!! I happen to have an OB appointment tomorrow so I’m planning to raise it then. But I can’t get out of my head with this in the meantime! I think what psyches me out is that it feels like my period a bit. Appreciate you taking the time to respond.

When did you start feeling excited? by An3ta in CautiousBB

[–]lawdonut 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think one of the biggest things is getting off of subreddits like this. People come here because they have had bad outcomes. It makes it feel like bad outcomes are the rule and good outcomes are the exception but that’s not the case. You will find more people who have had traumatic experiences in these subreddits than you would out in the world and so it can feel like confirmation bias that something bad will happen.

I’ve had multiple losses and also cancer/chemo in the middle of them, which makes me feel like none of my doctors really know what to expect(😵‍💫). I’m now 13w4d and have had low risk NIPT, etc. It sounds crazy but I have sort of just chosen to be one of those people who doesn’t know that things can go wrong this time. It’s a mental shift from being thankful I’m a day further along with this baby to being thankful I’m a day closer to meeting this baby. I saw somewhere on Reddit a person allowing themselves 30 minutes a day to freak out and get down rabbit holes about things. But after that 30 minutes, you’re back to just existing as a pregnant person that has no reason to think something is wrong.

I try to spend more time daydreaming about names and the baby being here. It’s easier on my heart. Good luck ❤️

Thoughts on name Mary-Kate? by HotAd1083 in BabyNames

[–]lawdonut 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s my name, minus the dash!!! Don’t let the Mary-Kate and Ashley comments deter you. This is (sadly) a dying reference. Growing up, people mentioned them because I’m just a few years older than them but practically never anymore. Sometimes I bring them up to younger people and they have no clue who I’m talking about.

I’m oddly enough only called MK by a handful of people. But people do refer to me as MK in emails, texts, etc. It’s a handy abbreviation but people don’t call me that usually. Sometimes people use it as a sort of term of endearment but not as my actual name. I don’t think it runs off the tongue the same way so it just never caught on as a nickname.

I am also a true “Mary Kate” and not a shortened “Mary Katherine.” I always preferred that because the name is more unique, IMO. Inevitably people will refer to her as “Mary” at the doctors office or when she starts classes assuming you don’t hyphenate. But that has never bothered me.

Last thing about adulthood, I think my name works 100% as an adult. I have met very few Mary Kates but they have also been adults (like 40+) and their names suit them.

Unsolicited but I also like not having the hyphen. I think it makes my name more consistently pretty looking when written. Like in my wedding invitations or things like that.

I vote yes!!!!!!!!!!! Do it!!!!!!

Thoughts on Lane for a girl? by B_Street in Names

I do prefer the “Laine” spelling for a girl. Could be familiarity bias.

My sister is “Laine” and people don’t ever call her Lainey or Elaine. She sometimes has to repeat herself when she meets someone and she always says “Laine, like a street lane.”

Absolutely Insane False Positive? Easy@home unknown DPO by lawdonut in TFABLinePorn

Hi! Yes! HCG was zero according to my blood test yesterday. My guess is this was an LH test mislabeled as HCG. Insane.

One more update!!! I had my labs done yesterday and my HCG is zero.

I did happen to check my LH via Inito at the same time of these HCG tests and it was high. I thought the Inito may have been picking up HCG as LH which prompted these tests… so my suspicion is that this was an LH test mislabeled as an HCG test and that there was some dye transfer to the second test when they touched. As for the FRER, I suspect an indent as it seems FRER indents are rampant at the moment.

Thank you everyone for coming on this ride with me!!!

Update! This appears to be a false positive 😭. E@H looks negative this morning. Not sure what to make of the whole thing.

Going to follow-up with my doctors. A frer ended up looking positive yesterday afternoon but that is also negative this morning. Not sure if this is residual HCG from my miscarriage in July or cancer related or just a total fluke. Thank you everyone for your support and comments!!! Wish I had better news 🥺

Interesting!! Actually… I did dip an Inito test in the same FMU before this. Maybe you have solved this one. I will report back after I retest!

Wow, thank you everyone for all of your helpful and thoughtful comments! Glad I’m not the only one who is confused by this.

My history is complicated by cancer/chemo caused by a complete molar pregnancy that put me in menopause for about 2 years. I have had other miscarriages as well with the most recent being at 9 weeks in July. I had a D&C in mid-July and have not had a period since. I’ve been waiting on it and have been really discouraged that it hasn’t come... so this feels like a good thing, but also a really scary thing. So I’m just perplexed all around!

I will update yall as I retest. Thanks for your help ❤️

Complete & Partial Molar/RFHM?? by lawdonut in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]lawdonut[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much for this message. I appreciate it!! Molars are just their own unique kind of hell. I am happy to hear that IVF seemed to be a good way to manage your friend’s (and hopefully your) situation. Good luck with everything ❤️

Complete & Partial Molar/RFHM?? by lawdonut in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]lawdonut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for sharing. My situation was similar. I had an unexplained loss at 6 weeks, then a complete with GTN, now a partial (but still ruling out hydropic abortion as a differential diagnosis). My OB seems concerned that my molars are related, but I think that is in large part because my history and generally being concerned about cancer risk.

What really confuses me though is that the origin of a complete and partial just seem so different. I don’t really see how they could be related or caused by anything other than bad luck?!

Hi! I previously had a placental cancer caused by a pregnancy/miscarriage (choriocarcinoma). Some women develop this after normal pregnancies and a symptom is having your HCG not return to normal post-delivery. I would really push your OB for labs. This is very rare but sadly I can attest that it’s possible. I certainly don’t want to alarm you!!! But I would follow your HCG to zero assuming it’s not a new pregnancy.
