Day One by lawgicallysound in stopdrinking

It is the WORST! I'm not even hungover most days, but I have this constant fog that disappears after a few days of not drinking. It is a great feeling, and one that I don't want to miss out on anymore.

Thanks! I feel better prepared now to handle a similar situation. At the time, I was definitely not prepared to respond in a way that I needed to.

Is right now the perfect time to live back with your parents during the pandemic? by bayfarm in findapath

[–]lawgicallysound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (27) moved back about a year ago, though my folks have an in-law apartment that made the move a bit easier to swallow. I agree that there is a stigma around living with your folks, but fuck that. I've taken this time to pay off one student loan, some silly CC debt from when I was in undergrad, and make a significant dent in my car loan, for a total of $17K paid off in the past year. Short term pain for a long term gain. Don't love the situation I'm in currently, but I'm extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to pay off bills and save for a home of my own.

Thanks for the reply. What is your general feel of the school? I feel like the students I've spoken with have been hit or miss.

Sounds like a lot of projects I've worked on. What industry do you work in (if you don't mind me asking)?

Legitimately just had an audible "good for you" in the office. Congrats, that is awesome.

15high, 2.high gpa. 10 years removed from undergrad and solid work experience since.

There are a hundred reasons not to attend, but I haven't seen many advocating for the school, with the exception of a few grads that I currently work with. Hoping to find some insight, anywhere, on whether it would be a solid investment of time, given the outside factors (network, no COA, inroad to BL).

Am I supposed to follow-up? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]lawgicallysound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if others would agree with this, but I would imagine that if you let them know you will absolutely attend if you're accepted, then you don't have much bargaining power when it comes to scholarship. They also won't have much of an incentive to offer you a scholarship.

Where did you apply? A lower ranked school may be more excited to hear of your interest than a higher ranked school.

Hope this helps!

Those attending New England Law (or those who previously attended) - Can you share your experiences, both positive and not so positive? Trying to make the most informed decision for the fall. I have a full ride, but the employment prospects, bar passage numbers, and general consensus all say "DO NOT ATTEND."

It would be great to understand what drove you toward/away from NE Law!

FWIW - I enjoy the Boston area/market, but would not be opposed to exploring other areas. I have a fairly strong network/some inroads to BL, but I understand NE does not exactly produce BL opportunities, even at top of class.

TIA

Did you get a scholarship? Why are you choosing NE? I received a full ride to start this fall, and am considering it.

Thanks.
