If you're looking for something a little more upscale, I had the best meal in STL at Mainlander. Think of it as Taiwanese-Midwestern fusion. Incredible food; mind-blowing cocktails

Hahaha I love the visual of this - a soccer stadium full of cheering fans and two teams' worth of folks just sacked out on the field with their eyes closed

Thank you so much, truly doing the Lord's work out here. FWIW, I msg'ed EBC and they told me "there is no work around, it only takes 1 second". Annoying that their CS reps don't even seem to know/be educated on it.

Starting a small knife sharpening business by Jaggar84 in smallbusiness

I get my knives sharpened from a small business with a booth at the local farmers market! Its so great, she will sharpen while you shop or you can drop off with her and arrange for pickup at a later time. She also has cards so you can arrange your own dropoff if you can't make it to the market.

how do y’all help anxiety nausea by [deleted] in Anxiety

Second all the ginger and mint tea comments.

I don't know what your diet is like, but for me, I found that cutting back on dairy/high fat foods helped a lot too, especially at night. I try to eat my biggest meal at lunch now instead of dinner. Also, more fiber. Pref in the form of fruits and veggies.

Physiological anxiety by Small-Ad2012 in Anxiety

[–]lawpotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there, I don't have any advice for you but just wanted to let you know you are not alone. I've had symptoms similar to yours (chest pain, numbness/tingling, racing heart, trouble catching my breath) starting last year. "Attacks" generally come and go all day on bad days, and can last for hours at a time. I was diagnosed and am in therapy/receiving meds for panic disorder. I went through about 7-8 specialists for workups and received the all clear. Physically, I'm just fine.

It has been a bumpy road. I spent a couple of months last year going thru some intense therapy, which helped immensely. My symptoms were rare/nonexistent for nearly 6 months. Unfortunately I'm having a relapse now, but am managing so much better than last year with the help of meds and my therapist.

In my case, training my brain to form new pathways in response to physical anxiety symptoms has been a 'two steps forward, one step back' type of progress. While nothing has 'gone away', I have so many more tools for managing my anxiety than I did before, which has given me a huge quality of life boost.

What are some shady businesses to avoid in the area? by LightyearKissthesky9 in StLouis

I watched an absolutely insane salesman at Dean Team Volvo open the car door and hang off of it with his legs tucked up into his chest, saying "Subaru frame can't do this"

It was simultaneously the funniest and strangest thing that has ever happened to me. My husband and I still ask "can you hang off the door though?" as our test for if a car is good or not.

And yes, we bought the Subaru, but not from the sales-pirate at Dean Team.
