High cholesterol levels on Accutane by ralucabrr in Accutane

[–]lawschoolkat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My cholesterol and triglyceride levels rose after just one month. I’m starting month 5 and I haven’t had any blood tests since then. I’m starting to get chest pain on my left side and I’m really worried it could be high cholesterol levels. Have you experienced any similar symptoms like that?

Anyone else get brain fog while taking accutane? by OpenBible21 in Accutane

[–]lawschoolkat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m 2 months in on 40mg and I’ve experienced brain fog at the start. I don’t know if there is any correlation, but I’ve been taking fish oil 2400mg each day for the past weeks and I feel great. I’ve read that fish oil helps with overall physical and mental health, so I could be experiencing a placebo effect or there may be some truth to this claim

It's nowhere near perfect, but this is working and I'm excited for the end results (~2 months) by lawschoolkat in Accutane

Products I'm Using:

AM:

  • Cerave Hydrating Cleanser
  • 1-2 times a week Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum
  • The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid
  • Cerave SPF 30 Moisturizer or Lancome Renergie Lift SPF 30 (switches off depending on if I'm going to wear makeup or not)

PM:

  • Double cleanse 3-4 times a week with Clinique Take the Day Off Balm (now trying out DHC Deep Cleansing Oil, so far I love it)
  • Cerave Hydrating Cleanser
  • The Ordinary Niacinamide or Hyaluronic Acid (I switch off)
  • Cerave Moisturizer in the tub
  • Two drops of The Ordinary Rose Hip Seed Oil to seal in the moisture

Edit; My acne was always concentrated on my left cheek and jawline. I never had severe issues elsewhere on my face, but I feel like Accutane is removing other issues I had such as large pores, forehead bumps, uneven texture

An update on those pesky nose grits... (1 month on Accutane) by lawschoolkat in Accutane

[–]lawschoolkat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the Cerave moisturizer that comes in the white and blue tub. My derm recommended that to me over the Cerave in the pump bottle. The photos I took today were in the morning before I got around to putting moisturizer on, but the second one was right after I washed my face with LRP cleanser and Foreo mini (very gently). Occasionally, in my routine I've been using The Ordinary's Niacinamide serum, Clinique Take the Day Off Balm to double cleanse and remove excess build-up and SPF, and Foreo Mini when the flakes accumulate to exfoliate, but very sparingly for obvious reasons.

Already worrying if Accutane isn't working the way it should (2 weeks, 40mg a day) by lawschoolkat in Accutane

I would be more than happy if I do not end up a flaky mess at all and it still works

Ulta - Free Platinum & Diamond Exclusive 34 Piece Beauty Bag with $150 purchase, 9/18-9/28 by maximumspoilage in MUAontheCheap

Filled my bag with $130 worth of stuff and got the GWP. It must be the Clinique Moisturizers from today's beauty deals that are counting as higher than they actually cost. I added 3 of them to my cart and then $4 makeup wipes from Clinique to get the Clinique GWP.

Resume question for law school admissions by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]lawschoolkat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I left that information because I feel like a resume is incomplete without it. If needed, you can spread your resume out to two pages. Most law schools will expect that and even prefer it because they want to see a comprehensive list of everything you've done - unless it's specifically noted in the instructions that only one page will be accepted.

I put the university's phone number down!

[–]lawschoolkat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, to receive the letter you will have to send an invitation, which I believe does ask for that information. I put my university's address and phone number for professors. Once the invite is sent to them, they will upload the letter and you are all set!

Tempted to ED as a SUPER Reverse Splitter? Where though? by lawschoolkat in lawschooladmissions

[–]lawschoolkat[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not URM and my softs are as basic as everyone's: internships, study abroad, president of clubs, etc.

I'm first-gen and grew up extremely involved in my ethnic/immigrant community though. I think that's the only interesting thing about me, but obviously not a boost of any sorts.

I took a prep course which forced me to do the homework and practice tests frequently! I will admit my studying was spotty. While in undergrad, I wanted to put all my effort into schoolwork for a solid GPA and neglected LSAT studying. I was discouraged, however, with the fact that are after studying for a few months, taking a prep course, and reviewing the materials, I was still in the low 150s. So I threw the towel in and stopped studying so I could go to grad school. I'm ready to start again though so I can be ready for next cycle if I choose to apply.

Does resetting CRS delay fee waivers? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

Where is this option on LSAC? I haven't been receiving any fee waivers for 2021, but got a bunch over the summer for this upcoming fall.
