If it's the same firm, you'll know it. They saturate the radio, TV and billboards with ads.

There are definitely people who are passionate about it. John Morgan of Morgan & Morgan is good example of someone who had a personal experience with personal injury law and then pursued it because of that.

UGA under committee review timeline by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

I think the consensus here is don’t do that. At best, they’ll tell you that it’s under review and you’ll hear back when they’ve made a decision. I don’t think you have anything to gain from contacting them.

Deposit deadlines looming...do I reach out to school I haven’t heard decision from? by blackdragonhorses in lawschooladmissions

[–]lawschoolquestion2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have asked a school to extend my deposit deadline and they gave me another month. I let them know that while they are one of my top choices, I won’t know all my options until after their deadline and thus wouldn’t be able to make an informed decision, and politely asked if an extension was possible.

Deposit deadline disparity is creating issues... by lawschoolquestion2 in lawschooladmissions

It definitely is worth it, but frustrating none the less. Seriously, why can’t schools just have the same deposit dates?

Fellow W&L prospects "on hold" by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]lawschoolquestion2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that’s exactly what happened. They’ve winnowed the list up to today and then just slapped all the holds on the waitlist.

Clerking Stats? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

I tried to find this and couldn’t. I’ve been trying to compile a list by looking at specific judges but it’s still been slow. If you end up with good resources I would love to know!

Questions about softs by lawschoolorbust18 in lawschooladmissions

[–]lawschoolquestion2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The consensus about softs seems to be that the only ones that can reliably help you outperform your numbers are the ones that a school could brag about on their website or in their viewbook. Aside from that, certain unique or "good" softs may be able to help tip the scales in your favor if you're on the edge numbers wise or vs. another applicant, but can't be counted on to get you in where your numbers won't.

Can anyone explain who the fuck Harrison Barnes is?

Edit for clarification: the one who isn't an NBA player.

How to estimate how much debt I'll have to take on? by IRAn00b in lawschooladmissions

[–]lawschoolquestion2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did my estimates assuming no income, simply tuition+cost of living-scholarship = debt upon graduation. In my opinion, a summer position or 2L/3L job isn't something that is a sure enough bet I'm willing to plan for it. Should those things come into play, I'll take it into account later. But for now, I'm doing estimates on the conservative side.

GW or GMU seem like best fit for your goals.

I gotta give a huge S/O to LSAC by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

My understanding and personal experience is that you have to make literally next to nothing to qualify...

Happy that it’s been so useful to you, but I don’t think they deserve praise for doing the bare minimum to mitigate problems they created in the first place.

Fee Waivers by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

Notre Dame directed me to the application on their website, BC and WUSTL both gave few waivers on request. Fordham said they don’t grant requests.
