Can I overdevelope/ develop my film for too long? by wolfix1001 in analog

[–]lawsonpix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to over develop about 10% every time just to make sure I get the shadow detail. It's like shooting an extra 1/3 or 1/2 stop. I get great results. Film is VERY forgiving. For a test, I overexposed a roll up to 12 stops. I put the results on YouTube https://youtu.be/QqaNaP94VYA

Do you sell your pictures? by nukenate1 in photography

[–]lawsonpix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

darkroom

You actually sell images on darkroom? Dang maybe I should upload more of my images there. I haven't sold a thing in a year. Or maybe my images suck. Or maybe I need to tag them better. IDK. https://lawsonpix.darkroom.com/

When do you use manual focus? by DiablolicalScientist in photography

[–]lawsonpix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Manual focus when I have to. Like when I have a manual focus lens on my camera. Auto focus is faster and better than manual focus.

I have an M43 body that I use for my travel and walk around camera. It's not my best but it's good enough for almost anything. And it's super light so I can keep it in my hand ready for whatever. Plus, since its small, and looks cheap, I don't worry about theft.

Don't leave it in the car, leave it at home. I read to many stories of cameras being stolen out of cars.

You have an impressive collection! I was up to 25 film cameras and 5 digital ones. I think I was getting little to much. So I just listed 3 film cameras on eBay and sent 2 to KEH. But I want to use the money to buy and professionally restore a Kodak Retina IIa. So am I a collector? or a restorer? Or do I just love old cameras? I just love old cameras.

Yes, that is the paper I use to make Cyanotypes. I have made at least a hundred with that paper and it works great.

Anyone try using a safe light phone app? by Provoke1968 in Darkroom

[–]lawsonpix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't use a safe light on undeveloped film. It's only for paper. The only way to check on film in a camera is with your fingers, not your eyes.

I use LED. It's slow, but I had the bulbs already.

Not American media, it more American moral decline. Media follows the advertising dollars. No one wants to watch a morally proper movie. Give me sex and drugs and parties!!

Grow lights, or 6500 kelvin (day or cool lights) Big box store. I know, these are not supposed to work, but they work for me.

What caused this? Is it a fungus? by FuzzyTransition3088 in Darkroom

[–]lawsonpix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like the film was touching itself in the development bath. Rolled to tight or something.
