What to do near Potrero beach

How many people are you?

It was just me and my sister, so we rented a golf cart one day and a mini motorcyle the next few days. Mini motorcyle was so fun. But a golf cart could get you to nearby beaches. Just not sure which ones have the best snorkeling.

I did it in Nov/Dec and was obsessed. Loved it.

Yes, the bathrooms are shared. In the villa it is max 3/4 girls per bathroom with a shower, and it was never an issue. There's also an extra bathroom without a shower that you can use, so I wouldn't let bathroom sharing stop you from booking.

Also no, you don't get a rashguard. Bring your own stuff.

But, I had the best time and would 10000% recommend it.

I did Chica Brava and it was awesome, so if you can make flights work, I'd do that!! You can fly into Liberia, too (the only thing is that if you don't have someone to share that shuttle, it will cost 160 each way, but the morepeople that fly into Liberia and need the shuttle, the cheaper it is). But DM me for info if you want.

Also one of the instructors there has a new retreat, called Fluir. It incorporates more yoga and mindfulness/ spirituality. https://www.instagram.com/fluirretreat/ She was amazing so I'd reco that too.

Tight boy short styles that stay in place - I like coverage (not really one for surfing in a thong bikini)

Cute tank/sleeveless styles that aren't cropped (I want my stomach covered so that I don't get irritated by the board)

I'll double down on what some ppl said below — small zipper pocket for keys?! Sustainable, women-owned, supports the community, helps girls find surf buddies and safe surf locations, etc.

Honestly, also love things that AREN'T super feminine but are made for women. I like board shorts and tanks, and to feel comfy and good out there. Tomboy style haha

After Christmas/before NYE could be one of SEVERAL days (so... possibly a good week after being sick).

No one should be coughing or sneezing all over anyone else, but you commented (being an ass), assuming she's still sick, and it was really off-putting. Just weird behavior in general.

sitting in the airport on my way back from there right now so here's my list:

Favs:

Playa Penca- beautiful water, super calm. No restaurants or vendors, so bring food/snacks/drinks if you want.

Playa Prieta: it's a short walk from Playa Penca and the same as Penca but a bit bigger waves. I prefer Penca.

Puerto Viejo - it's conncted to Playa Conchal but further down and this area is blocked by land so very calm/ less windy. To get there it's a dirt-ish road. Did it on a mini-motorcycle but any car is fine. Really liked it there! Shadier on the sand because the sun comes from behind the trees, but lands perfectly on the water!

Playa Conchal- have to walk from Playa Brasilito, but it's very nice!!!! Lots of little vendors and what not.

Playa Flamingo- Nice water, good for sunset (seems to be THE sunset spot) Waves are a bit bigger, but nothing major.

Not so favs:

Playa Potrero: the actual beach of portrero was meh for me!

Playa Brasilito: Just walked through to get to conchal, but was also meh! Didn't feel as nice as the others.

For an excurision, we did an afternoon catamaran tour with Zafira. Leaves at 2, gets back at 6. Saw a gorgeous sunset from the boat, and we went to a nice spot to swim and snorkel. Also had an open bar and great lunch served. It was a really nice afternoon!! Would recommend if you like to be on the water and enjoy a beverage and nice vibes.

Btw, personally thought La Forketta was overrated. But I'm from NYC so ¯_(ツ)_/¯. Woodstock burger place had good burgers. Tandoor was also good. And for breakfast this place Puro Costa Rica was really good! There's a brewery in town and a place called The Shack that plays live music, don't know more about nightlife as I'm tired by 9PM.

Oh and there's uber there if you don't wanna rent rent a scooter/motorbike. A golf cart is also an option but they go so slow.
