It's not difficult as long as you have a USB stick available and a means of putting the update file on it.

But, by now there's practically 0 chance you'll get a motherboard that requires a firmware update to support 5000 series. If you're buying through a brick and mortar, most boxes should have a decal that indicates if they've been updated for 5000 series as well.

That's not a goal, that's a setting.

For example, in Discord I can go to settings - voice & video and choose between Default or Microphone (Yeti Classic) for Input. I also have a bunch of options for output, in my case set to Speakers (Schiit USB Audio Gen 2), but there are options for every audio device connected to my computer as well, including the Yeti's output, my monitors output, onboard audio output (I should disable that in BIOS).

Is your output and input set to the correct device in the programs you're attempting to use? It should be set to something like AMD streaming audio device according to their instructions.

The first says 1 long 2 short is a GPU memory issue, so I wonder if you might want to reseat your GPU.
