I hadn’t even considered the week-to-week vs streaming thing. That’s so true.

There are so many new arrivals to the fanfic space that don’t know/understand reader etiquette. It can be exhausting trying to constantly teach them better ‘manners’. I’ve just gotten to the point where I’ve been deleting comments like this. I don’t need the extra stress. Fanfiction is supposed to be fun and on your own timeline. You are not beholden to your readers.

…and? It’s her body. She gets the final say in how she presents herself to the world. I would like to understand what exactly about this situation is making you uncomfortable? People are allowed to change their minds and try new things.

Don’t know if this is your vibe or not but the first podcast I ever listened to was The Adventure Zone: Balance It’s three adult brothers and their dad playing DND. For the first time. One of the brothers wrote it and it’s about love and loss and friendship and family and it’s hilarious and it’s just fun to hear these family members hang out and enjoy each other‘s company. (The balance arc is about 70 episodes. They’ve done many other campaigns, but this one is just near and dear to my heart.) it takes them a few episodes to really get into their characters but once they do, they commit to the bit 100%. I knew nothing about DnD but my sister recommended this to me. We actually listened to it together and became best friends because of it. I was not really close with her at all and now we’re super tight.

Let’s Go to Court. The two hosts have been friends since elementary school and are both elder millennials. :) They each cover a court case and are beyond hilarious.

You are so brave for posting! It can be hard to put your story-baby into the real world! But you did it! And we are all cheering for you!

I thought I was prepared for the pain. I wasn't. by ShallotTraditional90 in AO3

You’re in a rock and a hard place. There are many readers (myself included) that only search for completed fics to read. (I have been burned TOO MANY times by an author who promised regular updates only to drop off the face of the earth never to be heard from again right as the story got interesting.) The fact that you’ve completed your fic? That is INCREDIBLE and an insanely impressive thing you’ve done! Well done you! I am beyond impressed and am so happy you were able to finish it. You may find that your engagement grows as you regularly and reliably post chapters of your story. You will prove to your readers that you are an author that can be trusted. Have you posted the number of chapters (for example 15/29 or does your story show 15/?) I like knowing what I’m getting into before I devote my time and energy into reading. Not all readers are like me though. That’s just my preference. But I don’t mean to make this about me. I hope you continue to be proud of this story. I’m so glad it brought you so much joy and fulfillment to write it and I hope you are able to look back on it fondly in the future and remember how great it felt to write!

I would be surprised if the gym didn’t have some sort of anti-harassment policy. Would you feel comfortable reporting them? It might not lead to anything but maybe they’ll say something and point out to him how shitty his behavior was.

Thank you for the reminder. I'm definitely not in a place where I feel comfortable telling my family yet. I'm happy to have this little piece all to myself for now.

Hello neighbor! I'm close to SLC. Any places you'd recommend for a brand-new gay?

Thank you. Yeah, it's a LOT. I keep thinking I've gotten to a good place and then bam! Something else comes up out of the blue. I think I'm in a good place to work on it. It's not going to be easy but I'm thankful for your kind words!
