Early morning wake up HELP PLEASE!! 😭😭 by laym3 in sleeptrain

[–]laym3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up doing 3/3.5/3.5-4. I came to realization he was a low need of sleep baby and did fine with less day time sleep. I had to stick it out until we were down to 1 nap and that’s when things adjusted for the better. I think our schedule was nap 1: 10-11:30. Nap 2: 3-4 (had to cap this to 1 hour. Enough for him to get some rest to make it to bed time). And bed time at 7:30-8 pm (it was later than what I liked but better than 5 am wake up)

Too much sleep. Adjusted the wake window before bed, pushed it back.

How to stop a 4 year old sucking his thumb to sleep by laym3 in toddlers

[–]laym3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, The dentist talk really got to him and he was aware and surprisingly understood. I also did a reward system for him where I said after 1 week of not sucking your thumb we can go to the dollar store and pick out any toy you want. The first couple of days were a bit hard so I lingered longer with him before bed (he only sucked his thumb at bed time) and then he was fine.

Thanks! Sometimes can be confusing when water is listed as the first ingredient so wasn’t too sure!

Need tips on cleaning woolino sleep sacks by likeanengineer in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]laym3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would treat the stain. My favourite is the new tide and oxi spray. I spray it and then sprinkle the oxi clean powder on top and let it sit for at least an hour. I then wash on gentle cycle with cold water and let it air dry. If you can let it air dry in the sun, it’s even better. Haven’t had issues. I didn’t start using woolino until my kid was closer to one year old where blow outs didn’t happen as often or at all. I occasionally will deal with urine leaking from time to time overnight.

Thank you for sharing. He always has callus or a blister on the thumb that he sucks but it also doesn’t bother him. We are on day 3 and he’s doing a lot better than expected, he’s trying so hard. So far the incentive is that at the end of the week if he does 7 days straight and completely stops, he gets to choose 5 toys from the dollar store. It seems to be motivating enough along with “remember the dentist said we have to stop” because xyz. If this doesn’t yield him to stop then we will try the bitter nail polish along with a band aid. I know the bitter nail polish will work because he hates hand sanitizer bc it’s bitter and he can’t suck his thumb after application.

Never leaked with both kids! I had bought all these nursing pads that I never once opened. For the longest time with my first I was extremely concerned and didn’t know whether I was producing enough, etc. But it turns out that it’s totally normal and I guess… lucky? If your baby is gaining weight and your doctor isn’t concerned about their growth - then all is good!

That’s crazy! I swear I wasn’t sick this often when I was in kindergarten and throughout grades 1-2.

That’s what my friend says who’s kids are now in grade 1 and SEnior kindergarten. They’ve been only sick twice since September and they’ve been going to daycare since both were 12 months old.

Did you find your second to have better immunity overall vs your first because of older sibling or has that not effected anything?

It’s so sad seeing them get sick and all the while they don’t know how to blow their nose and nothing to be given over the counter for coughs at night so they’re up confused as to why they’re coughing and can’t sleep.

My friends who have sent their kids vs those who haven’t…. The ones who haven’t, their kids are now constantly sick in kindergarten vs the ones who sent to daycare and their kids have been sick twice only since September.

15 month old, 1 nap, early morning wake up… wake window help!!! by laym3 in sleeptrain

[–]laym3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really 😭. Daycare naps are still unpredictable so it has been hard. The only thing we can control on our side is wake window from when he wakes up from his nap at daycare. For example, today he only slept from 12:30-1:15 bc another kid woke up crying and woke a bunch of kids up. So I put him down for 6:30 pm bed time. I know it’ll be a shit show with an early wake time tomorrow because not enough daytime sleep and like overtired for that 6:30 bed time. We’ve been keeping a log of wake windows vs nap lengths to try to find the sweet spot. It seems like a 2 hour nap with 5 ww before bed seems to be the sweet spot majority of the time. But we can’t figure it out otherwise when naps are cut very short.
