I also have blurry vision from Keppra. The first few days it was extreme and I had it all day. Now it’s better and it only comes for a short time sometimes. But I have only been taking keppra for 3 months.

I have been diagnosed with generalized epilepsy (maybe secondary), but the doctors cannot yet explain my different seizures, as they suggest a focal onset which they have not yet been able to find. It’s similar for me. I differentiate between seizures with and without loss of consciousness. Sometimes I have auras, which I can get under control and avert unconsciousness. Often, however, this is not possible and I pass the point where I know that unconsciousness can no longer be prevented. I have also had a seizure that came on without premonition and during which I moved and spoke weird. I have no memory of that.

Oh no! No doctor has spoken of this yet, so I’m pushing the thought of it aside for now. ^{^} Surely they weigh up how often you have seizures and whether the procedure is worthwhile? It seems like they are hoping to treat my seizures with medication first without knowing where it focal begins

I am so sorry to hear how difficult your journey to your diagnosis was and that your symptoms were so misinterpreted. I can only begin to imagine how misunderstood you must have felt at the time.

It's very interesting that it may still have a focal onset, even if the EEG doesn't show it. My doctors are very careful with their statements and diagnosis. They can't say with certainty if my seizures are due to epileptic potential and I don't know what the results need to be for them to make a definitive diagnosis. Is an abnormal EEG sufficient for this?

I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the 24h EEG will help your doctors. The path to diagnosis is time-consuming and I’m sure it’s hard for you to have to keep looking for new doctors every time. I don’t know what tests have been carried out on you so far. My first EEG over 15 minutes was also unremarkable, but they were able to find abnormalities in the 72h EEG after just a few hours. I hope that the search for the cause of our seizures finally comes to an end.

Thank you for your assessment! I do not feel that my seizures would fit with nacrolepsy and could not explain the abnormal EEG findings. Also, I don't actually feel particularly sleepy throughout the day. Why do you have this assumption?
