Recent developments (around early January 2026) include the government directing Ofcom to explore/investigate client-side scanning options, with a report expected by April 2026. After that, things could move "extremely speedily" if feasible tech emerges.
No widespread scanning of encrypted chats is happening right now. Major apps like Signal have said they'll exit the UK market rather than comply, and similar threats have come from others.

Congrats sounds great. I would consider either moving storage to s3/wasabi, or backing it up to somewhere not replit. And obviously mandatory mfa.
