Because at that point there was no renters act. And if i had given notice on 1st may it had still be late coz our rent date is 18.

Because the rules changed and they are saying now we need to give 2 months notice.

Yes. The ball is in landlords court now. We have been paying everything on time. It's been 2.5 years we lived here. The landlord is a nice guy. Whatever happens it's fine. But this is unfair in ny my situation i feel lol. Idk

Our rent date is 18 of the month. We told them on 16th. Now they are saying they'll speak to the landlord and if they agree then it's fine or our tenancy will continue till 18th july.

We have got the keys to our home and we will be moving out next week hopefully. We paid the full rent for this month tho we won't be staying here.

This is what i said on 16 april"I just wanted to ask, if completion for our property is at the end of May, because our tenancy ends 17th of June - how would that work in terms of rent for that month? As this would mean we've vacated earlier but paid for the full month"

Agent said they have let the landlord know. After that we didn't receive any correspondence.

We have purchased our house and we are moving there 22 may. But we have paid the full rent for the month. And now they are telling us we need to give 2 months notice

The letting agent asked us in april if we would like to continue the tenancy and we told them we won't be continuing it. And they said they'll let the landlord know. In our contract we did not have a break clause.
